Default Re: Pros and Cons of Programmers working abroad

    I have 3 questions:

    1) May I know who of you here are working as programmers in the Philippines and who are not? (Freelancers included)
    2) Do you think programmers in the Philippines are well compensated for their efforts now or in the near future?
    3) Can you think of a better way for Filipino programmers to stay and still achieve an excellent quality of life?

2.) currently we are not well compensated, mas dagko pa gani tog sweldo tong mga bosses which demands do-this and do-that (experiences from my prev employers) when those who do the magics and outa-of-this world strats to do end-users life easy were sadly not-well paid ( i mean, murag di jud kaau dako ba ang sweldo compared to those developers working abroad)
3.) currently wala koy ma think, maka discourage man gud ang pamaagi sa mga employers ug it people sa pinas

Although it is true that programmers working abroad earn more but they also spend more with regards to the high cost of living. If only there is a way to get the best of both worlds, spend peso but earn dollar.

    1. I'm a software engineer.

    2. Yes, majority are overworked yet underpayed. That's why many projects are outsourced here because of cheap rates.

    3. Let's not limit ourselves to programming per se. Be involved in the whole software development process, invest in learning new things and gaining new skills in project management, requirements analysis, design and testing. If we can offer clients good value for their money, I'm sure we can improve the quality of life for programmers - software engineers here in the Philippines.

Wala man siguroy sayon nga job... tanan bisag unsa nga class lisud man jud tingali pangitaon ang money... Here if you want to earn as much 100k or higher, then you should dig more to the limits... Adto ngadto, di man tuod to the limits imong kayod pero ang imong environment maoy magpaluya nimu didto, instances; mingaw naka ni bunso, imu wife, imu kuya, imu friends, imu doggy, etc...

so dre og ngadto equal ra... hahaha!

just an opinion, pero la pako ka experience, student paman ko...
