there is no scientific basis for this observation. the cause of breast cancer is multi factorial and plucking of hair is definitely not one of them. ang bukol-bukol sa ilok nga ma una ug observe, usa sa first mahibal-an nga you have poss. breast cancer kay lymph node na man na cya. pero ga una ang breast cancer nga wala pa ma feel especially kung tua sa ilawom. that means una ang cancer, mo metastasize lang sa lymph node (lusay) sa ilok. dili kay bukol sa ilok unya mo-lead sa cancer sa breast.

sakto jud ka bai. daghan jud myths na mo tuo ang mga tao. the best way is to find out what's real or not.

FYI: risk factor rana if mag ibot ka sa ilok.. but medically speaking its genetically inherited then mao dapit sa ilok its because its alwys in the lateral outer part of the breast....

plucking, waxing, shaving of hair from the armpit is not even a risk factor for breast cancer. so, continue removing hair from the armpit. it is hygienic.

correct me if im wrong the way i understand it... when you pluck hairs... the pores really opens...

body fluids (pawis or singot) gagawas sa any skin pores thru process of elimination...
anti-perspirants blocks the exit points nga dapit sa ilok...
in short, dili makagawas ang "sweat"... it stays there for awhile... the "dirty" susbstance or "free radicals" cause kanang bukol-bukol.... it develops... and it sometimes lead to....
... you get the picture.....

there are many cases man gud sa breast cancer nagsugod dapit sa ilok....

hahaha this is so wrong..... and funny. you relate "dirty" substance to free radical? do you even know what a free radical is? well to make it simple, its an atom or a molecule which has a missing or unpaired electron. i wont elaborate more coz you probably wont understand.

pero bisag imo pa nang haplasan ug lapok imong ilok you wont get breast cancer coz it has nothing to do with hugaw or singot nga wa ka gawas. and the antiperspirant-cancer link does not have any concrete scientific proof nor it has been fully studied. just think of it, men uses antiperspirant just as much as women does but why breast cancer is not prevalent among men?

but i can understand why people can easily take antiperspirant as something that can possibly cause breast cancer. obviously its because we apply it in the armpit which is very close to the breast. some ignorant people even considered wearing a bra as a risk factor.

if people really want to know their risk factor for breast cancer they should look at:

-age
-genetic risk factor (BRCA-1 and 2, p53, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2)
-family history
-lifestyle (alcohol consumption, smoking, high fat diet)
-weight
-birth control pills
-hormone replacement therapy
-previous breast biopsies (cyst, fibrosis, fibroadenoma, nicrosis and other benign tumors)
-early menstruation (before 12)
-delayed childbirth (first child after age of 30) or having no children at all

i'm not going to tell antiperspirant users to keep using antiperspirants coz this is a matter of personal decision but antiperspirant as a breast cancer risk is not recognized by the "experts" and it belongs to the "urban legends" as of now.

BREAST CARE

STEP 1: VISUAL EXAMINATION
* Force the mirror with arms on sides and examine beasts carefully for lumps, puckering, change in skin color, fluid around the nipple or other changes in appearance.
* Repeat procedure with arms raised over head.
* Place hands o hips. With chest muscles tensed, repeat visual inspection
* Gently squeeze each nipple and check for discharge.
STEP 2: CLOCK EXAMINATION (Standing/Taking a Bath)
* Put one hand behind head.
* Soap other hand, press it firmly against breast with fingers held flat.
* Make small circles from "breast bones" towards nipple, feeling the entire breasts and underarm are of the lumps.
* Raise other arm and examine other beasts. It is normal to feel a ridge of firm tissue around the lower curve of each breast.
STEP 3: CLOCK EXAMINATION (Lying Down)
* Lie on your back in a comfortable position
* Place a pillow under left shoulder
* Place left hand under head, then exmaine left breast with the right using the same procedure use in Step 2.
* Move pillow under right shoulder and examine right breast using the left hand
* Repeat the procedure for self-examination.
