@greggy: Thanks. I actually used non-diffused lighting for the Batman shoot. Your shots literally look cool. What's your light source? How many Kelvins? Lumens? Watts? Mine's a 60W incandescent. Too bright for my taste.
Nice pud imo depth-of-field bai. What aperture setting did you use?
@szichri: I have yet to receive the light tent. I ordered it last Friday so it might take 2-3 weeks to arrive. Actually, the image isn't crappy. It's your backgroundIt should be black (from a noob who's reading about tabletop photography). You also need to arrange in either (a) rule of 3rds, (2) diagonal or (3) S-curve (also from the book I'm reading).
@cmontoya
its just a test shot for DIY light tent / light box... and using a crappy P&S camera which doesn't have a manual control...still saving for my dream DSLR...

thanks bai =) camera flash akong gamit ana, i dont know pila ka watts but i was using the lowest power setting, mga 1/128th sa iya power placed just right on top the subject. akong working aperture mga f/16 but mao nana ang light hitting sa top sa lego, i used fill cards sa kilid kai pas2x kau ang fall-off. ang akong DOF di gyapon enough IMO, labi na sa 2,3,4 shots..it's still too thin even @ f/16. BTW makita nimo akong light source on pic 1, that's how close it is @ 1/128 in f/16! i like that one too mura'g gi abduct si lego sa aliens =)Originally Posted by cmontoya
@greggy: Oh, you're using a D-SLR. That's why your shots are better. I only have a Canon Powershot A630 with a maximum aperture of f/8. But then again, some pros tell me that it isn't the camera itself but the lighting. Although I think my light source is too bright, that's only my eyes talking because when I try to use 1" f/8, it's still too dark (the latest toy comics above used 5" f/. If I use 0.8 f/3.5, it's okay but I sacrifice DOF. Ingon book ako gibasa na the best for object photography dyud is faster shutter speed (to avoid effects of camera shake and of course atmospheric disturbance in long exposurs) and larger f numbers. But that also means using a very bright light source. I'm looking for a flourescent lamp that gives off 2100 Lumens (5000 Kelvins) (I don't exactly know what these mean technically but mao daw ni minimum needed for table top photography).
