2 guards grilled over bloody Laguna bank heist

MANILA, Philippines - Investigators looking into Friday's bloody robbery at a branch of the the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation in Cabuyao, Laguna are now grilling two security guards who surrendered to authorities late Friday.

Q-TV's Balitanghali on Saturday reported that the guards, identified as Joel dela Crua and Regidor Sapun, were placed under interrogation and subjected to paraffin tests.

No details on the results of the grilling or the paraffin tests were immediately available, but police said they were trying to find out if the two were involved in Friday's incident.

Nine bank employees and a customer were killed, while a bank officer was seriously wounded in Friday's attack.

On Saturday morning, investigators from the police's Regional Special Operations Group, Scene of the Crime Operations, and the National Bureau of Investigation held a case conference.

The report said the investigators also talked about possible reward for information leading to the capture of the suspected killers. - GMANews.TV
