Nope but you have more control if you have your own domain name. Go to www.wordpress.org and create an account there for your FREE blog.

yeah, you don't need to have a domain. there are many blogs out there that offer free hosting service.. the difference is if you're planning to make money out of it,and you'd like to have just a free blog, then i recommend you go to Blogger/Blogspot. I love Wordpress and its simplicity, but they don't allow paid posts in your your blog.

About the post about a drop from PR4 to PR0 means Google penalized that site from selling links or in other words paid reviews. Lots of Paid review sites have been penalized by Google.

no, you can still earn money thru blogspot. I believe blogspot is the only one that's not too constricted because you can use it for earning.

Buy your own domain bay, sa blogspot mismo, atleast to change your long url to shorter one.
