OT: I just paid 400 pesos for my catholic confirmation ceremony on June 12I just console myself with the thought that half of it went to the poor. My ninong is my neighbor who is a closet atheist hehehe..
Its simple, those are uneducated Catholics. Maybe its just hard for them to identify which is due for God and which is due for saints. It's like the moon and the sun, people will be awed by the sun because of the light it sends to earth and at night, when the moon is full, they will gave the same credit for giving light to earth at night, not knowing that such light just came from the sun.

Sorry, I used the sun/moon relationship because its like God/saint relantionship. God source of holiness while saints reflects those holiness. But we shouldn't condemn the ordinary people for acting that way because its just they didn't have the chance to be told what was right. The fingers should point to the educated ones for not reaching out to them.
