    No comment on Codilla banging bodies inside. . Klaro na kaayo kung unsa ang mahitabo.hehehe. Anyway, the way I see it, Codilla is good being a helper on defense. Kanang mamalak on the weak spot or grabbing those rebounds when everybody else is boxing out. Ala Marcus Camby during his New York Knicks days.

    ^^

    pero sakto, he may not be the primary man on defense but he sure can swat those shots out of nowhere..

    maynta naa pay ma recruit ang taga USC na Fil-for to add ceiling to the team!

    there is ongoing talks with Rene Jun Saycon who has already expressed interest.WHile he is a natural wingman, Saycon can play at least the 4 spot, has good hops, solid slashing skill and decent outside shot, mura ug Padayao nga naay drive/slashing move..He is 6'3"..naa lang gamay snag sa iya transfer papers sa ACSAT kay di siya nahan buy-an even if di na cya nahan duwa didto sa dumaguete..he left ACSAT diay before the second sem karon kay ginapabayad siya ug tuition for 1st sem, 2nd sem ug damages..hahayz,, talk about too much money issues in basketball

    ANother local nga nahan ko maapil sa lineup is non-committtal as of yet. I'm referring to the younger San Juan, 6'4" Nico. top player ni sa nursing league diri Cebu, plays center but has a decent outside game as well, nya solid ug lawas..natural wing sa akong tan-aw who is playing center owing to his size..moshift kaha ni siya from his nursing course in Velez to play for USC? Si AJ, iya maguwang is already training with the team and told me gikumbinse pa niya si Nico and iya mama nga mag HRM sa USC..and accdg to coach Ryan, nag-istorya na daw sila sa mama, and mama man niya nisulti mismo paduwaon ra niya, so naa ra jud ni kang Nico ang choice karon..

    The other guy I know right now nga project for the future is 6'2" James Ontal from Siquijor, good shooter, wide-bodied pero raw pa lang hinuon, just 17 years old..

    of course we all know 6'4" Emel Rowe can play some post, although mas maayo siya nga wingman..and wa pa sad ni commit

    Nico San Juan is from Velez.

    @thadzonline:

    Kaluoy pud ni San Juan kung mag HRM lang sa USC para makaduwa basketball. As much as I want him to play for USC para naa na big man, let him stick to Velez and continue his nursing studies.

    @Lance:
    kung USC lang, di gyud na molihis sa ilaha stand re: financials, siguro if naay datu nga alumni who will provide, then kana siguro but I still dont think it would be that much

    so is Nico a product of USC high school program?..I don't think they'll be so discreet about it if they try to shoulder the financial obligations of that certain player! haha

    [br]Posted on: May 11, 2008, 04:25:36 PM_________________________________________________s aw the team play last night sa MLKP summer showdown and Im liking what I saw even without new fil-fors. (USC 83, USJ-R 73)

    Nilton Otida out of USC-NC showed some promise with 9 points, 3 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals while sharing the PG slot with Jabby Bautista. QUite mature for a player barely out of HS

    AJ San Juan had 6 points, 5 boards and 2 assists on limited time due to foul trouble..excellent passing big man, pinpoint kaayo ug mga pasa, could have easily had 6 assists in the game, ang uban were either muffed by the recipient or got fouled on the attempt, he can also hit the mid range J, and yes if you are looking for someone who can mix it up down low, he is your man

    Giovani Padillo had 19 points, 9 boards, 1 assist and 2 steals and is emerging from the shadows of Niño Ramirez..this dude is a clutch shooter, watch out for him

    Bakker with 6 points on 2/3 trifectas..now that teams are taking notice of his outside shooting, he should learn to put that ball down and drive..he did dribble quite a few times and it did not look awkward, except that he turned it over once when he took steps first before putting it down. I would have wanted to see what he can do at the post too but he didn't get a pass when he tried positioning against his man on the block

    Gino Gallarde had 3 swats, 2 of them on the break(although one was called for a foul--it looked clean upstairs but could have some body contact down low)

    Cid Cortes, again showed his wizardry off the boards grabbing crucial offensive caroms at endgame and canning pressure packed freethrows, he could be nursing some injuries too as he wasnt used until the 3rd quarter

    Jabby Bautista just showed he can lead the team and I hope he stays. 5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals

    As a team, USC looked good and did some great press breaks against the vaunted USJ-R trapping defense(although Armand Ponce still had 7 steals)..USC chalked up the win without Llanto(groin and back) and Paul Joven(knee) who are nursing injuries..Niño Ramirez was also in street clothes
