That's all I can think of for now. Some of the artists here released follow-up singles to their hit song (Toad, Third Eye, STP) but they weren't as popular and everything went downhill. Some are just pure one-hit wonders like Deep Blue Something, The Heights, The Rembrandts.

.........being a one hit wonder they just make a little stir and "puff", they're gone, so none can remember them. Jick, a few of the artists you've mentioned are not splash-in-the-band, lisa loeb, STP, extreme all made it to the top not once but a couple of times, maybe it's you who doesnt really know them.
not sure about this but i think natalie imbruglia - torn. also, days gone by by dirty vegas.
