case in point: (1980's) naay babaye natagak sa uncovered manhole near City hall. nabali iyang tiil. so ni file cya ug kaso against the city gov't for neglect (or was it reckless imprudence) resulting to physical injuries. IYANG GIPANGAYO as damages? 1M. The best part is, NKA DAUG cya sa kaso. to think dako na kau nang 1M atong 1980's. maybe that 1M value pag 1980's is worth 6M now...

besides, kanang 6M kung mao gyuy amt makuha ni Jan2x, dili man na NET. kuhaan pa na sa atty's fees, filing fees, doc fees. murag kanumdom ko aning line gani ,"6M in damages including atty's fees and other incidentary expenses".

Jan Jan remains faceless, yes, but nameless? NO. here's his real name: Genaro Jorolan

it won't be long until his real identity -- with pictures -- would be splashed in front pages of newspapers in the days to come. think about it, a rape victim --I think this case is close to that-- would face the judge, people in the courtroom, the media and everybody else when the time comes that his case would be heard in court. he would re-live the torture (sexcapade with callboy) all over again. imagine the humiliation the moment he tells his story over and over again. no rape victim would wanna do that but it's needed in this case. not only was he a victim of such but he became a victim of another form of cruelty in the hands of professionals.

remember, if this video didn't came out thru text and thru youtube, he wouldn't have know that he was wronged no only once but twice. the sad part is: he was wronged by the same people who he went to in order for him to get some help.

he went to those doctors asking for help. yes indeed he got help but it came with a lot of extras.....

Probe surgery scandal fairly, objectively: surgeons’ group

THE Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS) on Wednesday urged authorities to conduct a fair and objective investigation on the Cebu surgery scandal and to impose the appropriate sanctions against those involved in the case.

PCS president Armando Crisostomo expressed concern on the possible negative effects of the incident on Filipino surgeons who are working here and abroad.

“The PCS expresses its deep concern over the unfortunate incident that revealed apparent unbecoming behavior during the performance of a surgical procedure,� he said.

Individuals

Last month,a surgical patient from Cebu complained of having his rectal surgery at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) operating room uploaded in the video-sharing website, YouTube.

The footage showed the surgeon and nurses giggling and cheering while a perfume canister was being removed from his anus after it got stuck in a sexual encounter with a fellow male.

The Department of Health (DOH) has named nine individuals in the Cebu scandal, including head surgeon Dr. Philips Leo Arias, while saying the individuals who will be found liable are set to face administrative and criminal charges as well as possible removal of licenses to practice.

But Crisostomo said their group cannot sanction Arias as he is not a registered member of PCS.

Meanwhile, Genaro Jorolan, the surgery patient, a homosexual, is avoiding the media.

Danton Remoto, chairman of Ang Ladlad, said the patient has refused to be interviewed.
