Hala para ka sabot ka...that V has the Shozoko, Kobe's symbol.

It represents the sheath that a warrior would place his sword in. Kobe said that the logo represents the sheath that he places his emotion in when he plays basketball and where he takes it out when he needs it on the basketball court.

kobe is definitely a great player in the NBA but i DO NOT think he deserved mvp i personaly think pau gasol deserved it
with gasol the lakers are 22-5 (81%) (reg. season)
without bynum and gasol with just kobe there 10-11(47%)(reg. season)

the truth is kobe can not carry a team without another superstar im not kobe hating but its the truth
    gasol deserved mvp

no he only got it because they felt he needed to get one before his time is up. they knew he probably was not going to ever win one if he doesnt win this year. look at the young guys already up for mvp, lebron, cp3, d. howard, kobe would probably not get another one.
yea he cant carry a team, he never has and never will. he cant carry his team even with odom, who before he came to the lakers, was a triple double threat and was a good player with wade and butler in miami.
yea without gasol and bynum, theyre 11-10. if kobe wasnt playing for the lakers, but bynum and gasol played, they would have a better record than 11-10.
    Why not Kobe ?

You're right that Kobe can't carry a team without another superstar but...so did other MVPs, Nash had Amare and Shawn. Dirk has Josh. Shaq and Kobe, Shaq and Dwade, Jordan and Pippen. Duncan and Tony and Manu. CP3 and David. Magic and James and Kareem. But Kobe doesn't have any other superstar other than Pau Gasol currently. Bynum is emerging now as a threat but I still wouldn't place him in a super star status but still it's this season that he's becoming more consistent, that bad mouthing motivated him to work hard. Lamar Odom as good as he is, isn't an all star caliber player, if you look at him he is quite inconsistent and he even admits that he prefers to be the 3rd option since he can't really take the pressure. Lamar never was even in the All star even during his Clippers and Miami days. DWade could have gone far with Lamar, unfortunately he's inconsistent. Look at Pau as well, he usually claims to be injured with a bad back during his Memphis days. But with Kobe, he's very motivated and brought back his desire to play hard to win and has hardly said to sit a game out due to a bad back.

About bad mouthing. well Jordan did the same thing with his supporting cast. Same with Shaq kaso those two were not caught on video and wasn't sensationalized by the media.

Plus, Kobe played with a broken pinkie and didn't opt to have it operated. That says a lot on someone's courage to play through pain.

Here's a simple thought. Even if the Lakers had Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, imagine them without Kobe Bryant. That alone would tell. The Lakers had a serious turn around this season even before Mitch Kupchack brought in Gasol and it's all because of Kobe.

    Detractors sound real funny.

I don't have a problem in the case of Kobe winning the MVP plum, but that does not mean he deserves the MVP. Most of us would think that Kobe "deserves" it because he's getting old, and that, Kobe not winning an MVP is a crime.

Mura'g "sige, imoha lang sa ni karon, dugay2x na bitaw ka sige handom aning MVP".

I don't know about you but that's what I'm thinking right now. Also, I understand about his request to be traded, after all, Kobe is "human".

I'm not really a Kobe hater or someone that posts comments against him, but the way the other 4 players who are in consideration of the award have bigger impacts than that of Kobe.

Kevin Garnett - KG's arrival in Boston clearly stirred the whole Eastern Conference, if not, the NBA. The Celtics gave up 100 points at least 6 times when he was injured resulting to a 7-5 record, before his absence, he boosted the entire squad with his defensive repertoire by allowing opponents to score 100+ in just 5 times in 42 games.

His numbers are down compared to his early years, but his defense is a strong indication that shifted the whole attention to the Celtics, resulting in an 18-3 record against the wild, wild West.

Lebron James - Statistics-wise, Lebron is doing the necessary things to keep HIS team afloat. We saw that all season and he is arguably the best player in the league right now with those numbers going up and it won't probably go down until his waning years. With no No. 2 in Lebron's side, he was able to carry the whole Cavaliers team.

The addition of Ben, Wally, Joe Smith and Delonte West is pretty solid, but Lebron is still the MAN in the offensive end. It's like he knows he has to do it because everybody else sucks.

Steve Nash - Two MVP awards and he's still in the race for it. Also, he is the heart and soul of the Phoenix Suns. Clearly, Nash has proven once again that he can still deliver and with minor injuries of Amare and Grant Hill keeping them out of the games this year, plus, with the Shaq blockbuster trade, Nash was able to maintain the high game level of the team.

Chemistry has back-pedaled a bit but Nash was able to handle it well at both ends, making way for another double-digit average in assists four years in a row.

Chris Paul - Paul finished his third year with 21.1 ppg and 11.6 apg and has "made everyone around him better" (sounds familiar). David West became an All-Star, Chandler became a rebounding demon (confidence up knowing he's gonna get his points later), made Peja Stojakovic found his mark at last, and making coach Byron Scott the Coach of the Year.

His stats have improved dramatically and led his team to the second best record in the grabeh ka-gahi na West. With most teams rely on their multiple weaponry, the Hornets NEED Paul to pump things in New Orleans for their offensive assault.

Chris Paul, dare I say, is the best PG in the league right now. And the MVP.

Just remember that this is my own opinion, but if you really want to prove your point, FIRE AWAY!!!

... pero OT mani gud. diri ang ko kutob.
