unya na lang kung dili na dag-om...
nindot ni da, dile kaha manakit atong liog ani sige ug hangad sa mag bitoon? hehehe! bitaw kun motukod mo ug club kay mo-join ko, maybe i can share my few knowledge about star constellations and their names![]()
@ jfox : yup =)
@ Divemaster : divemaster, dli man sad intawn ta mghangad uyyy, pgkalaylay.. mghigda man na mg star gaze, if dugay jud ka..
@ KABAW : nindot na imong idea dah![]()
@mjdianne: dile diay ta maghangad? unya unsaon man na magdala ta ug folding bed ana kay manghigda man ta, hehehe! bitaw what if naa sa zenith ang star nga imong gi-observe, sure gyud na mosakit imong li-og. nindot gyud baya unta i-stargaze dire sa ato kay duol nalang ta sa equator, meaning daghan ta makita nga stars nga observable within the northern and southern hemisphere. kaso lang para gyud nato ma-appreciate kun unsa kadaghan atong makita kinahanglan adto ta sa itaas bukid or naa sa dagat para less nalang ang hayag sa mga suga.
unsa man madayon mo tukod ug club?
hahaha... sakit gyud na sa liog if naa sa zenith.. pwd pud folding bed, if kugihan ka mupas an. agree ko nimo, daghan jud au ta mkita dri especially sa places na wala light pollution, like places you mentioned, beach, high altitudes and sa mga provinces.. buit even naa ka sa light polluted area, daghan man ghapon ka ma appreciate bah most esp if naa ka tools, which unfortunately, walay baligya dri..
anyways, wala jud gihapon ko repyi nila.. dedma akong beauty!hahaha... mgtukod nlng ta ayyy!hehehe...
apil nya ko ani!
@mjdianne: nindot unta na nga idea pero kinahanglan man pod ta mga equipments which as you have mentioned wala gyud ko kita dire sa cebu. mga high altitude places with less light pollution naa ta daghan dire sa cebu so hopefully naay magpahulam diha ilang equipments, hehehe! bisan ordinary lang gud nga telescope for starters.
mura kabantay man ko before naay usa ka istoryans dire mao pod iyang hilig, and i think naa to siya telescope. i'll try to look for it again in other threads.
i have a telescope man, 5-inch reflector ra nuon. 'tis a gift.. wala lng jud nako ma-maximize ang pag gamit, dli man ko kabalo mu-polar align. ganahan man gud unta ko mag messier marathon cause this time's the best time. so nahitabo is i'll randomly pick a spot and wala pa kau nako ma discover iya power.. so far, saw pleaides and the great orion nebula, which is seen as hazy lang with my scope. i dont know if mao ra bah to iya kaya or its bec of light pollution.. mao nangita ko astro society. hehe... i have already tried exploring the moon pud diay maskin wala koy moon filter, sakit au sa mata, antos nlng kay if mu buy ko accessories, mahal man kau kay almost mu-times two ang ako mabyran cause of tax ang shipping. imagine another kind sa ako scope could have been bougt sa nabayad sa shipping and tax! but i rili need to buy eyepieces and filters no idea lang unsa exactly ako paliton... which is which sa kadaghan nila!heheh.. how i wish jud naay store para ana nga hobby dri. naay ng plan mu tukod og astro store sa dumaguete, but as of now, ng think pa sila for the target market.. so if anyone here interested to buy astro gadgets, tell me lang, para ako ma brought up.. mg try pa man lang ni sila if mu click bah..
anyways, Divemaster, mas mau if mkit an to nimo ang person nga naay telescope.. the more the merrier! Then mag star party dayun ta! yippeee! so kinsa man mg organize ani krn? hehehhe...
way lami stargazing ron uwan uwan hehe![]()
@mjdianne
Your 5-inch Newtonian is already enough. Noon, dili kaayo effective for DSO's, pero for simple objects like the moon, Saturn (with a 10-8mm eyepiece) and Jupiter (and Jovian moons), payts na na.
And you don't need to buy a moon filter--it's easy to make one using old stockings stretched over the main aperture of your scope
If people here are serious to put up an amateur astronomical society, give me a call.
My daughter using a 4.5" inch Dobsonian reflector that I designed and helped construct from an old Meade reflector and some junk parts.
