Without trying to spoil much, I was indeed pleased to see a finale that's a not-so Hollywood formula.... but I was NOT upset or crying in any way, perhaps it was because there was no POV switch prior to the climactic scene??
The POV switch only happens AFTER that final moment in the movie's finale which didn't really set me, as the viewer up for a POV switch unless the makers had no conscious intent for the finale to be a tear-jerker or to purchase a similar emotional response; so otherwise it is still a very good way to conclude the story.
