if u want ur underarm waxed professionally, it would be best to go to a salon. its not exactly expensive man and surely, you'd be satisfied with the results. and the pain is not unbearable.. just a quick pull... nothing dramatic so kaya ra. i think its close to impossible to wax urself.. imagine raising ur arm and doing all those stuff in front of a mirror-- not a very nice thing to do.. hehe

yea i have even tried of threading. but usually nuh, its done after waxing para ma kuha ng mga gamay na hair na wala na tangtang sa wax.ambut lang sad if pwede ba na e threading lang tanan. for sure it would take a very long tym....

i have a way para mag wax in a very cheap way and homemade cya ang tawag dito ay sugaring method mas mild cya kesa sa wax and mas mtgal anmg pagtubo ng hair sa sugaring method kesa sa wax ang wax kasi nkakasunog din ng balat pag di marunong ang ngwawax me tendency pa n mangitim ang underarm unlike sa sugaring very natural ang paraan and no other chemicals unlike nga sa wax bgay ko senyo ang recipe

Here is a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
2 cups of sugar
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1/4 cup of water
Directions:
• Put the sugar in a large saucepan.
• Add the lemon juice and water.
• Stir constantly over a low flame until the sugar is a dark brown.
• Pour into thick plastic storage containers and allow to cool. (These can be put in a microwave later for reheating if necessary.)
• Allow the sugar paste to cool until it is warm and spreadable.
Notes:
Be sure to test the warmth on a small portion of skin first. It is easy to burn oneself if the paste is too hot!
If it cools too much and looses the correct consistency, put in a microwave oven for 10 to 20 seconds. Again, test the temperature before applying over a large area.

Hair removal by sugaring
Sugaring is an ancient method of hair removal first practiced in the Middle East. The principle of sugaring is similar to that of waxing. The sugar solution is heated to make a thick, tacky paste. This is applied to the skin and hair to be removed. The sugar paste is allowed to cool and then quickly stripped off in the direction of the hair growth. The hairs are embedded in the sugar paste and they get plucked out as the sugar is pulled away from the skin. In the same way as for waxing, there is a modification to this technique where the sugar paste is applied and then a piece of cloth is put over the top. The sugar solidifies and binds to both the hair in the skin and also the cloth. The cloth is pulled away pulling the sugar and embedded hair with it.
When hairs are plucked out, the hair fibers usually break at just above the hair follicle root, deep in the skin. Because of this, the results from sugaring and other forms of plucking are longer lasting than shaving or chemical depilatories. It usually takes several weeks for new hair growth to become visible above the skin surface.
The immediate down side to sugaring is the pain involved as the sugar paste and hair fibers are ripped from the skin. There is also a risk of developing ingrown hairs. As the hair fiber regenerates after plucking it can curl around and dig into the skin at the side of the hair follicle canal. This can cause focal irritation - ingrown hair. Waxing can cause the longer term problem of skin irritation and further exacerbate ingrown hairs. However, while sugaring works in a similar way to waxing, it is claimed that the sugar paste approach is less irritating to the skin compared to the wax/resin compounds of commercial products.
For sugaring to work the hair fibers have to have some length for them to become properly embedded in the sugar paste. So before the next sugaring procedure can be performed, the hair must be allowed to regrow.

Make your own sugaring solution for hair removal
There are sugaring products available from various commercial sources. Although you might be hard pressed to find them in your local pharmacy, there are several vendors selling sugar paste products for hair removal on the Internet. However, you can also make your own and it is quite simple to do.
To make the sugar paste, mix 2 cups of sugar, a quarter cup of lemon (or lime) juice, and a quarter cup of water together in a pan. Heat up the mixture on low using a candy thermometer. Watch the mixture very carefully so that it doesn't boil over. Heat the mixture to 250 F on the candy thermometer for 10 minutes stirring constantly to avoid burning. Let simmer for 5 minutes until it goes thick and a deep amber color, this is the equivalent of the hardball candy stage.
Now remove the mixture from the stove and let it cool so that it will not burn to touch it. You can place the saucepan in a sink filled with cold water to speed up cooling. You can either use the mixture now or pour it into a jar to keep. Make sure the jar is safe for whatever form of reheating you plan to do later. If you keep it for later you can reheat the mixture in a microwave to soften it up or put it in a pan of water to heat (take the lid off the jar before heating and make sure the mixture does not get too hot).
To use the mixture, test the temperature on the palm of your hand, remembering that the skin of your hand is much tougher than the sensitive skin under your arms or on your upper thighs. This is important as sugar paste can get very hot - much hotter than water alone and you can burn yourself if you are not careful.
Powder the skin from which you want to remove the hair with a little baby powder first. Then spread the warm paste in the direction of hair growth over the area to be treated using a small, plastic spatula. Going with the hair growth allows the sugar paste to grip the hair better. Cover the paste with cloth strips, let set for a few minutes, and then rip off quickly in the direction of the hair growth. As hair grows in many different directions, it may be necessary to repeat the same area. A slight reddening of the skin may occur, but it should be gone within an hour.

Two other recipes:
Sugar Syrup
• 8 parts sugar syrup
1 part lemon juice
1 part mussed oil
2 parts water.
• Put it on a medium heat for 45 minutes.
• When the mixture turns brown remove it from the heat.
• Add a little glycerin and let the mixture get cold.
Honey
• 5 spoonfuls of honey
1 spoonful of lemon juice
• Put it on a medium heat for 30 minutes.
• Remove it from the heat and add a little glycerin.

Ingredient for sugaring hair removal:

# Sugar: 1 cup
# Lemon juice: Half lemon
# Honey: 1/4 cup
# Molasses: 1tbs
# Cornstarch

Mix sugar, lemon juice and honey well. Heat it on low heat till it boils. Cool it down so that it is workable. Lets assume, that you want to remove hairs from your leg. Make your legs clean and dry. Dust the legs with cornstarch so that it is completely oil free. Spread the thin layer of mixture on the leg, the part you want to work first. Cover it with a cotton cloth and rub it towards opposite direction of hair growth.

Grab the cloth at one end and pull it out quickly in one go in the direction of hair growth. It will hurt a bit but still the results you would get is worth pain.
Professional sugaring wax



hi all, i know i find it really helpful when others right down their experience with laser and electrolysis and i figured why not do the same with other things like sugaring and waxing! hehe.. so here it is

yesterday i sugared (at home, by myself, but its the same thing if i were to buy the product and do it)..

ingredients =sugar and water, with little lemon juice.. and i let it cool and then i kneeded (spelling??) it in my hands

body parts: arms till elbows, legs till up upper thighs (couldnt do bakini area cause it hurt), and under arms.

i had been growing the hair in those areas because sugaring only works and works best with long hair.. so i had let it grow for about three weeks and half and the hair was about 1 cm long.

i had dark, think black hair on my legs (but lighter and thinner on thighs) and same in underarm.. by arms were lighter and thinner compared to legs.

i sugared using the same technique with waxing.. laying down the sugar with the hair and pulling in the opposite direction.. if the sugaring got stuck i would pull in direction of hair to get the sticky sugar off and then proceed as usual.

so i sugared all of that and it took me couple of hours.. i had to take breaks in between to put aloe vera gel on the area i had just done (but first i washed a little with cold water to take out some of the sugar residue before i put on the gel)

couple of things to notice...

-dont sugar areas that have no hair.. after the second or third time, the sugar will stick to you and it will be extremely hard to get it off and you could leave a bruise mark on there.

-pulling skin back is really a good idea.

-once done, dont wear form fitting cloths (try not to wear anything on the areas done..haha) because the skin will be tender and clothing will only irritate. >>i wore shorts and a tank top when i was done.. so that also helped the gel to work on my skin without it being rubbed off by clothing.

-if redness is a problem.. run leg/arm/whatever under cold water for a little while and dab dry (dont rub..it will irritate)... then put cream or gel.

-try to wait a while before taking a shower, because that involves rubbing and that would irritate the freshly sugared skin and cause it to go red again.. but its up to you.. depends on how sensitive the skin is.. or go easy in the shower

.. so after i was done and i did all of the above.. my arms and thighs look amazing.. so soft and clean and they feel like a baby's bottom.. i swear!.. my legs also feel sort of soft.. but because of the already thick and dark hair that i had before.. not all hair was 100% off and i had some stubble (not from the sugaring, but from short hairs that did not grow long enough for the sugar to hold on to).. and i got big pores on my legs. so black spots are sort of visible.. it sucks.. but it beats being hairy!.. under arms are soft.. but i got a problem there from before, where i break out into bumbs and stuff.. but this is an individual problem.. most ppl do not get this.

so conclusion wise---sugaring worked best in areas with long hair and thin hair.. but thick hair works well, but depending on the size of the pores, the pores will be visible.

and keep loading on the cream and gel even days after sugaring, just to keep it nicee and soft and irritation free (if yorr skin is prone to that stuff)..

i sugared 100 times before and i can tell you that i know my arms (from the elbow region) will break out into white head pimple things.. i am hoping it wont this time because i used aloe vera for the first time ever (before i just used regular cream)..

so this hair free feeling and look will last about 2 weeks to a month. i would tell you what to expect when the hair starts coming out.. but i'll leave that till when i actually experience it.

sugaring is great for when going on vacation and you'll never have to bother with shaving or anything. your skin will stay feeling really smoooooth and soft.

Temporary Hair Removal Solutions

These are mostly methods or over-the-counter products that you can use in the comfort of your own home or if you prefer done at local salon or spa in your neighborhood. Depending on your pain threshold, some of the techniques here can result in hair-free skin lasting up to 6 weeks.
Shaving - This is the easiest, most inexpensive method. But, results don't last very long. Usually from 1 to 3 days only. Nevertheless, a good shaver and the right technique can get you clean-shaven while avoiding or minimizing skin irritations.
Sugaring - A natural method used since the times of ancient Egypt. Similar to waxing but using a sugary substance to coat the hair before pulling it using a cloth strip. Clean up is faster than wax as it is water soluble. One of the more painful methods to remove hair. But the rewards come in the results that last from 3 to 6 weeks.
Depilatories - These are chemical-based topical creams that literally melt the hair away. To be applied to the area with unwanted hair and left on for a period of 3 to 15 minutes. Care should be taken as prolonged use can melt skin cells as well. Be sure to test on a small skin area first. The side effects are skin irritation but the results can last up to 2 weeks.
Threading - Also known as khite, it is an ancient form of hair removal still popular in the Middle East, India and Pakistan. Primarily used for facial hair and uses a cotton thread in a twisting and entwining motion as it rolls across the surface of the skin trapping and pulling the hairs from the skin. However, it's hard to find a practitioner skilled at this outside big cities. Results can last up to 3 weeks.
Tweezers - A very effective but time-consuming way to remove individual hairs by plucking it out from the root. Very painful but results can last from 3 to 8 weeks.
Waxing - Another good way to experience torturous pain. Kidding aside, it is very effecting in removing large amounts of hair at a time. This method requires using heated wax spread over the skin, embedding the hair within the wax. Once the wax is cooled, it is pulled quickly to remove the hair from its roots. Yes, it hurts as bad as it sounds and extra care is also needed to avoid getting burned by the wax. And for all that, the results usually lasts 3 to 6 weeks.

hey mga dudettes!! Brazillian waxing in Cebu? naa man ni dire. Slimmer's ayala they do laser light brazillian. Grabe opao gyud ni brazillian murag baby na ni ciya. Limpyo kaayo. Sugar waxing, epilin wax, mao ra na siya ug nag-pluck ka, but with all the ingredients mentioned na. Tried na gyud nako ang epilin and even plucking everything down there but useless for me kay grabe ka baga ang buhok. Go for lazer hair removal, but they still have to assess you kay lainlain baya ang ato hair, naa baga, naa nipis lang. Go for 10-15 sessions kay dili lang once matangtang ang ato-a hair. They usually recommend mga 5weeks apart for your next session. Go for the package kay mas barato ang package compared to individual session.
