i think cebu is safe for those na dili magtext text or call while walking along the streets or riding the puj, dili magsul ob mga jewelries sa colon or carbon. safe basta low profile lang og dili magdanghag. pero kung destiny jud nimo tulison or kawatan, aw, la na jud ta mahimo ana.
kung ako icompare sa mga places sa phils. na ako napuy an, medyo naa sa least safe side ang cebu. sa manila & quezon city, vigilant jud ko while out. sa makati, less vigilant sa business district. sa lucena city and tacloban city, less vigilant.
but cebu's still my home sweet home

There is a ring of pick pockets operating in SM. You will be surprised to know that these are mostly kids 11-16 year-olds trained by their parents how to do the operation. Moreover, the kids dress like they're well-off so you wont recognize them (of course).

While in SM, please carry your bags close to your body. Hold your cellphones well. Try not to put them in your pockets especially if you're wearing loose-fitting clothes.

I am not sure though if they're the same group operating in Ayala.

But generally, I think Cebu still is --- even when I had been a victim of a (failed) necklace snatching along Lorega recently.

hello! anywhere naa ang danger noh... sa ma tyminggan lang... hehehe btaw mas ok pata dri sa cebu oi... e compare nmo sa other places in the Philippines.... thats why bitaw nga many tourist ang naa sa Cebu than Manila.. careful lang gud always dba.. ma tigbak man gani na ang natog ra.... hehehe

...as for me yes it's still a safe place to go however just keep in mind that we should be careful at all times...
