i guess everyone has their reason for doing things. The hard fact is, whether the nurse intern posted the video or not, the unethical and unprofessional act of the doctors and nurses still happened. the malpractice of these professionals are independently unacceptable as it is. also, we do not know her/his purpose for posting maybe because the intern did not also agree with what they did to the patient. there are many reasons though.

i guess no one is perfect. people commit mistakes at one point in their life or another. sometimes big ones and at other times small ones, but the most important thing is what we learn from out of all these things. we sometimes judge so easily because we are not the ones in the situation. we hear so many things, we read so many things.. but is it all truth?

i believe that someway somehow, this happened for a good purpose although it came to us as a negative shocker. this hopefully will mark a re-awakening in the Philippine healthcare system for rechecking and improvement. it now depends on the authorities of how they will handle this case. how justice will be served... all eyes are on the Philippine Healthcare society, what will you do about this?

revocation or not, something must be done. justice must be served..

agree ko bro... dili ni about personal life sa patient...

the church and even our teachers teach us not to judge others. God has the only right na maka judge kung kinsa ang sinners. naa pa gani sayings sa bible nga β€œHe that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” from Jesus (Gospel of John).

I thought mao ni ang teachings sa church? ngano mani atong mga pari ug madre usahay mao man ang mu simang? wa sad sila kilati sa ilang mga teachings noh unya sila ra ang mu supak? paka uwaw man lang na si dakay uy..

    para sa uban...

ayaw ninyu i divert ang issue..

this issue is brought up kay tungod gi post ang operation/surgery sa PUBLIC without the patient's consent.

"negative" reactions came up because of the release of the video in public without the consent of the patient.

    not because of the operation.
not because of what the patient did.

    nanganak, gi video-han, nakita tanan...
unya ipost sa You Tube, malingaw kaha ka?

this is only ONE CASE, I think of the many, that we're glad we finally know about thanks to that YouTube video upload.

imagine the dozens or so cases where the same scenario happened: jeering, cheering and laughing medical team members while doing other forms of surgery or operation. maybe someone on that team makes fun of a sedated/unconscious patient, probably touching inappropriately his/her private parts or maybe just doing anything they like on the helpless and defenseless patient.

a patient, like Jan Jan trusted his life with these people but what did they do? they saved his life alright but in the process, they humiliated and violated him while he was unconscious.

good for the person/s who uploaded the video even though he didn't know its repercussions in general. it would have been better for him to just bring it to proper authorities and let them handle it. but either way, the fact still remains that the deed was already done with or without him having the video uploaded on YouTube. if this is the case that would change our medical system drastically FOR THE BETTER then he's forgiven. if it's for the greater good, then I'm all for it.

but just the same we would always wonder what happens behind the scenes in the OR where only these medical personnel are allowed inside. I cringe every time the thought of having any of your loved ones or yourself being operated on in a hospital in Cebu after having watched this video over and over again.

    taking a video is one.
as long as consent is granted before the operation and videotaping started: it's ok.
but there was no consent form signed by the patient.

laughing and cheering while doing the operation while being videotaped:
that's another story. it's totally unethical and disrespectful.
plus the fact that there was no consent form signed and yet videotaping occurred.

posting the video in its entirety complete with audio on YouTube is another.
that is below the belt 'coz in the first place, the consent form usually states that it (footage) would only be used for educational purposes and not to be shared in a public site. there is no other site more public and readily accessible than YouTube.

the irony of it all is that NO CONSENT FORM WAS SIGNED.

the church, the public, the politicians as well as the administration of VSMMC knows the facts pretty well on this case but each has its own agenda and own arse to protect. so each of them, us included, will pursue an angle to their own liking and preference.

sure the church will condemn Jan Jan and his alleged sexual misconduct. there's no surprise there. the politicians will pursue another angle that of course will gain them more popularity. that's a given. the VSMMC admin on the other hand will be biased to themselves and their subordinates. I hope they'll get punished if any whitewash happens.

while us, the public, don't care much about what each of them do. all we want is justice for the patient, punishment handed-down to the culprits and hopefully changes made in our medical system.

I just hope our 3 wishes are all granted.
