Baseline, Loft offer Jiu-jitsu classes
IT IS a known fact that Filipinos have small builds. But this has not been a hindrance for Filipinos to excel in sports.
Another sport Pinoys can excel in is the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), which was envisioned by its creators, the popular Gracie family, as the small man’s martial arts.
The BJJ, created in the early 20th century which now metamorphosed into the modern BJJ popularized by Royce and Rickson Gracie, is considered one of the world’s fastest-growing martial arts. It will be introduced and taught to the Cebuanos at the Baseline Recreation Center and Loft at the IT Park, starting April 28.
The martial art form, which is based on grappling, is designed to train smaller opponents dominate their much bigger foes.
Trainings at the Loft will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8-10 p.m., while the classes at Baseline will be every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m.
