But if your a PC person and you want a multifunction media center, htpc would be your choice [br]Posted on: April 06, 2008, 08:05:58 AM_________________________________________________J ust would like to share my experience with everyone with my quest for a good working HTPC
Ok, im really getting a tad bit frustrated, im experiencing some tearing on and HD video (mkv)
1.) I got it on winxp using Imedian and Imon by soundgraph since I have the GD01MXR casing. But if I play using CCCP codec on zoom player, there is no tearing of the video.
2.) I installed vista ultimate 32bit thinking it would fix the problem, although on IMEDIAN the tearing is lesser, it is still there and whats worse is that after installing this codec:

    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...ec_package.htm

it now gives me tearing even playing the files via media player.

    My hardware specs:
E6600 With NT06 Lite and FM123. (Sorry mistyped, na q6600 nako before)
Intel Dp35 board With latest Bios.
    Gecube 2600xt
2x1GB DDR2 800mhz Team Elite in Dual Channel
    LG bluray Drive Sata
GD01MXR with Imon remote and VFD by soundgraph.com
    Silverstone ST400 PSU

    My goals:
1.) To use Imedian without tearing whether it be in vista or xp
2.) To use IMON remote with Vista Media Center (is this possible?)

Ive posted on the soundraph forum as well, attaching it here just for reference:

    UPDATE

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK guys Ive solved my second goal today, I have the remote working with vista media center already and with cccp, media center is playing the videos without problems

Its the IMEDIAN software thats left to solve, I have to say, I like the Imedian HD softwares interface, way better than Vista media center, hope they solve this issue soon!

Ry, maybe the tearing be a need to upgrade your gpu driver. by the way, isn't a quad an overkill for an htpc setup? & where will you get blueray discs?

Hahaha, your right it is.. its E6600 ra diay na dapat Mistyped. I dont have a single bluray disc yet, but nag tugon kog a few for testing, gi patiming nakog sale sa US So for the Bluray side I havent tested the optical drive yet.

Yah I did upgrade the drivers already to the latest released, no beta drivers tested. IMEDIAN uses a very unique interface to operate a video, when you forward or rewind a video you will see and overlapped interface over the video, it looks cool but its heavy as well, and I think its graphic intensive which requires a high end video card, and I think an NVIDIA card would solve it easily. Will try elaborate on this further once I do all the tests

Well suppose to be kaya ra unta na even with VGA. Have you checked the settings sa imung TV? I do recommend you go to DVI?HDMI setup, you will really get a clearer picture with more vibrant colors

hi muzikfreakah, imho pwede ni provided:
    1. your bios supports booting from a sata device
    2. (for xp users) you're using an installer that has been slipstreamed with sata drivers (wala man gud sata drivers ang windows xp installer). i'm not sure with vista coz i haven't tried it yet.
