HELP! NEC VersaPro VA60H

My brother-in-law just gave me his old laptop, a NEC VersaPro VA60H. It's a 10.4" laptop w/ no internal cdrom. It has a dead hdd. Does anyone know how large the maximum size of HDD this laptop can handle? It previously had a 2.5" 10GB 4200rpm toshiba hdd. It's difficult to find these days and also, it is just too small. I'm assuming the RPM/speed does not matter that much right? I'm planning to buy a 80GB 5400rpm seagate as I find it difficult to find even a 40GB mobile disk. But I'm hesitant 'coz the laptop might not detect this or so and I might end-up buying it for nothing. Anybody please help.

suggestion lng, when u want to buy parts for ur laptop, try bringing it para matry daan before nimo paliton ang
parts.. i've tried it sa silicaon valley, ok ra man nila e try daan para sure.
