bradderr, bsan naa pa na sa akong atubangan ang video all the time, wa koy pakialam bsta buhaton nako ang angay nkong buhaton. so what if the video sells hotcakes?
what im taking is about my own reputation as a med profession abroad. of course i would feel remorse on what happened to the patient ug sa mga tao ilang na apektahan.
pero i have my own job to do. so be it kung makatag na, let the worst come if thats what you think. if mga puti tries to belittle me by mentioning that sotto incident, as a filipino i would humble down to 'em about that mistake but as med professional in front of their GOD DAMNED face, id just head up as if i say i can still do an excellent job. AND THIS SHOULD BE OUR ATTITUDE! dli ta moapil ug ti orok, para ka2 lng nga kaso!

you can continue your cat fight later but let me stress a point,
Johnny22aa:
we won't know the exact impact of this "VSMMC issue" in the global medical field until we hear from you or your fellow healthcare providers firsthand job-hunting experience in the future. you're right, it doesn't matter "even if this video plays in front of you all day long". of course it won't matter as much to you because you are "a nurse" and it's not in your job description to hire one. that's an HR's or hospital admin's job to hire one. got the point?
common sense tells me it matters greatly if it plays all day long in front of hospital HR people all over the world, those same people who gets to decide who to hire and not hire. see the difference? let me ask you again, does it matter now?
you can say:
"wa koy pakialam bsta buhaton nako ang angay nkong buhaton" or
"kung naa nata sa US, i prove nato nga we are world class" over and over again but what if you or any nurse won't get hired in the US because of either the "nursing board exam issue" or "VSMMC Issue"? how can you show your world-class qualities then if that's the case? mind you, working in Manila all your life is not "world-class".
see? you have to get hired in the US first before you can show them what you can do. so for now, just wait until "YOU GET HIRED" before opening your yap about showing "mga puti" what you can do. don't start getting cocky as if it's guaranteed you'll get hired 100% in the US, UK or any other country for that matter in the days to come. there are a lot of obstacles in that direction even before both issues came about. it seems to me that you're already counting the chicks before the eggs are hatched.
sometimes being humble and just doing your best without mentioning it would be appreciated more by people in my opinion.
it's true that Filipino nurses BEFORE didn't encounter problems when they applied abroad but that changed right after the "nursing exam issue of 2006". even if 90% of future medical field applicants get hired abroad without any hassle but having the rest (10%) running into some problems relating to what ranZter shared then IT IS STILL A BIG IMPACT no matter how you play spin doctor with this issue.
now you have two more negative issues hanging over your head aside from the existing hurdles that a medical practitioner should overcome when applying for medical jobs abroad. just do the math.
from me: NOW
bro, first of all this is not a cat fight and i hate my opinions to be called one. i will also stress my point to you from your own point.
i agree we still dont know what's the exact impact on the issue yet im not hoping it would be disastrous to me and my fellow med professions here and abroad. why are you hoping that it would hit you? that means you are expecting EVIL things to your life and will keep on happening to you till ur last breath of existence and to your last generation. what im expecting is even this buzz keeps on lingering other people's mind, SO WHAT? i mean everybody should think like this. i have a job to do and i deserve to be have a happy one bsan pila pa na ka scandal!
you're correct, we will be job hunting for abroad in the future. and i expect my future employers puts a great deal on my resume, my work experience, my academic background, my personal information, character references and of course my performance on the interview. this is what im expecting for "big thinker" HR personnel & hospital admin looking for broad minded med professionals. yes, ur correct, this is reality. and it's another reality for PEA-BRAINED HR personnel and hospital admin. pretty sure dli na cla magduha2x ug hisgot anang sotto incident as if all filipinos are part of it. no doubt bisan sobra na ang shortage sa ilang facilities, they'd never put it out on their minds ka2ng video ilang nakit-an bahin sa sotto! and i make it a point those are of your kind nga di jud mohawa ug magpalayo nimo coz thats what you want and ur expecting in the 1st place.
yes, i would certainly say nga wa jud koy paki bsta buhaton nako ang angay nko buhaton with a WORLD-CLASS motiff. ang2x naman sad manghilabot sa mga buluhaton sa uban? u should concentrate on what ur doing, otherwise wa juy employer mo hire nimo. ti-orok na lng kas inyo. and of course there should be a standard, a world-class level. first of all, that's the reason US chose pinas because we have the potential to be one (our english advantage is a big, big one!) even there are still big challnges to face. ang2x naman sad mo mentener ka sa level ka2ng nakit an nimo sa sotto. im sure mao na imong ganahan, let it haunt u, deep deep down. FOREVER.
i again agree with u braader ka2ng nursing board issue. korek ka naglisod jud ang uban, dako kaau tong hassle jud. i have a cousin pa man gli nga nag utang2x ka2 nga time. but did they give up? HELL NO. so what if prc or nclex or your employer sa US decides to let you take again? pili, mag nurse ka or mamaligya na lng kag kuchilyo? kung ganahan jud ka mag nurse sa abroad, ul do everthing to make it happen. no matter how hard it is.
yes bro, even before nag decide ko moskuyla ug nursing. ga expect na jud ko nga mo abroad ko ug mo trabaho dd2. petitionan ko ug h1b working visa or green card sa akong employer. thats how i see myself after im done sa skul. nganong mog tuga2x kuno ug skuyla aning kursoha kung kbaw ko wa koy padulngan. and bro, im opening my yap not for the sake of arguing but because i know my abilities sa linya sa trabaho, no matter how many scandal is. mao ra jud na akong point. and im saying this should be everyone's elses thinking.
u say ur anticipating for IMPACT that'd be felt soon. ur correct, it's like lozada! but look at lozada right now, asa naman cya? have u thought about flor contemplacion? ngano preferred man ta sa mga singapore employers more than any other ASEAN countries in terms of it professionals, med workers? sarah balabagan, nganong ang dubai is already the preferred job destination sa ato next to saudi. sa japan, bsan we here japanese nationals are on a threat from crimes here or our japayukis have work issues there? JPEPA? why are they starting to get nurses and caregivers to us? kung ganahan ka, apilon nato c rizal, ngano ang spain already proposes to hire caregivers? cant u just c d glittering gold aside sa sotto incident?
ur absolutely correct bro na being humble doing ur best without mentioning is more appreciated. but u cant just let others say na ang nursing wa nay kaugmaon just because of that incident. im doing my best to defend that this is just an isolated incident and this should not affect the whole med profession. and that's all this forum "istorya.net" can do, mention by typing and posting what's on ur head. kundi puydi pa lng mo tumbling atubangan NIMO wyl gabasa ka ani, y not!
i dont need rithmetic nor job issues to dwell upon, for christ sake. maybe ur just getting more involved on the sotto
