Car batteries are long lasting than ups battery...
Car batteries nid maintainnce (nid battery solution) while Lead acid( Ups batt) is maintainnce free...

AVR is a requirement. UPS for safety.

the question man gud ana is asa nimo mas needed? do u nid something which could provide you with power para dili ma corrupt imong data in case of power outage? or ok ra nimo nga ma palungan ug kalit2x?

avr's will try to pull-up the power strength if naay low-voltage or pull down the strength kung kusog kaau or in other words iyang i regulate ang power during power fluctuations. although this is not advisable kay eventually, maguba jud imong avr ana.

the ups is already an avr by itself pero i extend lang niya ang imong time para maka properly close and shutdown ka, take note, it is not designed to substitute the electric power so ayaw hutda ang battery kung mag brownout.

in my case, i'm using apc nga 500, and for more than a year kay ok pa man cya, maka supply pa man cya ug power gud for 5-8 minutes (pc ra ug monitor ang naka connect ha). what i do is at least twice or 3x a week b4 ko mohawa sa akong pc, akong ibton ang power para ang battery ang mag dagan as substitute power for around 3-5 minutes, and then shutdown. para murag ma practice kunohay ang battery to run its function and so far, ok man cya....

also for avr's, if you can get a servo type one, go for it. its much better than mechanical-relay-based units... more expensive yes but i doubt any relay-based avr can match its reliabiity/durability.

my first PC was a 286 and it came with a beltron 500va servo avr (i got it when i was in 3rd yr college). its been 16 yrs since i graduated and that avr is still running (my parents are using it now for their ht and tv)...

for two years, i only used a panther powerstrip with surge protector and had never encountered any problem while my friend busted his powersupply in a few months even if it has an avr and another busted his hd after a year with an avr for his pc.
