@Joe: Try manual installation of your HP LaserJet 5000

Start

Settings

Printers and Faxes (then click)

Add Printer (double click)

Welcome to the Add Printer Wizard (click Next)

Local or Network Printer (Select the option that describes the printer you want to use

Choose Local printer attached to this computer ( Uncheck the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer)

Select a Printer Port

Choose the Use the following port: USB001 (Virtual printer port for USB)

Install Printer Software under manufacture (click HP) then other side Printers just scroll down until you see HP Laserjet 5000 but there are 3 types of model ( HP LaserJes 5000 PCL, HP LaserJet 5000 PCL6 and HP LaserJet 5000 Series PS try to test each one of them.)

Name your Printer ( You must assign a name to this printer ) Printer name: (just leave it)

Do you want to use this printer as the default printer? Select Yes then click Next

Print Test Page ( Do you want to print a test page? ) Select Yes then click Next

Finish
