that scenario that you allude to is simply an classical "balak" stressed by men so as to add on the veracity of the fact/truth they want to convey (it's basically an overstatment, and it's never meant to be taken literally).. even in advertisements we hear overstatments, but we know that's just plainly marketing scheme.
