    @Omad
i am personally against what they did bro... they made a mistake... so let's just give them the necessary sanctions... i think not all Doctors from that hospital man tingali parehas nila... unfair man sad gud kau uban dinhi kay generalize nlng dayon ang tanan... louy bya sad ang walay labot... Let us accept na nasayop sila, naay lapses, and then give the appropriate sanctions, dili kay ang whole hospital atong sisihon na dayon... Wala ko nag-work didto, but i know they too have policies.... Sayop lng jud ang team ani....

It was really unprofessional. Unethical. I was totally against it. Didnt even want to watch the video but everyone here in the house asked me to try to get the link so we can all watch it here.

    Just thinking...
If you were there, say, an assistant or student nurse,
would you be able to hold your ground and stand against each and everyone present, against your unprofessional colleagues, which could even be your friends?
when everyone was in a "festive" mood..
when nobody was there to apprehend the taking of videos and pictures...
when even the surgeon was so "game" with what was happening...
    when everyone defied the rules...
when everyone seemed to follow this "when in rome, do what the romans do.."

... its kind of hard but kung kusog lang ka'g prinsipyo, and u know whats really right, i think you can go against it. Pwede pud, walk out ang show, bahalag i-label ka ug "kj"

this is what I've been pointing out ever since, media and readers alike don't remember details. exact details like if it's VSMMC, Chong Hua, CDC, PGH, St. Luke's or whatever hospital it happened, that would no longer be the point. I don't think they will even care about that now.

    all that is remembered is:

"IT'S A HOSPITAL IN THE PHILIPPINES".
"IT'S AN OPERATION DONE BY FILIPINO DOCTORS".
"IT'S AN OPERATION ATTENDED BY FILIPINO NURSES".

that's the sad part. so no matter how we spin this whole story as only involving a dozen doctors and nurses in one specific government hospital, we can't prevent other people from other countries reading the news and watching the video to generalize. everybody who has access to computers, television and newspaper in the whole world who have read this story or watched the video will have second thoughts when it's their turn to go to a hospital or clinic to have a check-up or surgery and asks if a Filipino is the one taking care of them. maybe they'll ask for somebody else and I can't blame them. I believe that for every 10 reasonable patients, there is one that generalizes what he reads or watches in the news and thus tend to shy away from our fellow countrymen who are in the healthcare industry.

I pity all of those Filipino medical practitioners working in other countries. I hope those doctors and nurses involved in the "surgery spectacle" can relate to the repercussions their fellow practitioners are experiencing or will experience in the days to come. It's gonna be ugly.
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

it is very ironic how NURSING and MEDICAL schools in the Philippines are so strict when it comes to certain MAJOR COURSES, with several paperworks that needs to be completed, certain major requirements that needs to be fulfilled, and all other stuffs that IMHO are totally unrelated to being an effective doctor or nurse in the future.

the reason why i'm pointing this out is because of this recent SOTTO incident. if NURSING and MEDICAL colleges in the Philippines offer RIGOROUS curriculums in their programs, isn't it funny that some doctors and nurses in our country who were products of these colleges practice the OPPOSITE?

of course, we can't rule out EDUCATION here because these so-called "professionals" have spent so many years studying and devoted much of their time in SCHOOL. now, as omad have stated, imagine how it would greatly affect the ENTIRE image of not only hospitals in the Philippines but of the EDUCATION system as well.

    very sad.
