I think that you do NOT fully understand the concepts of reformatting. Once lang pwede magamit? Absurd. If you have a GENUINE CD, then you can use THAT cd to reinstall the OS in your computer. Of course, if your cd is NOT GENUINE and by virtue of validity is FAKE, then FAKE OS ang gawas after reformatting your pc. If you have purchased a cd with a license key on it, then it IS GENUINE. Also, you don't "reactivate" an OS... merely "reinstall" them. I suggest that you read more from internet or ask from friends who has experiences in reformatting. You could try googling this topic. Consider this a friendly advice.

naa man kaha gihapon sa imo ang cd key? pwede pa ka magparegister ug balin. Even if OEM ang imo license pwede ra na cya as long as dli ka magchange ug motherboard....

bro, nakasulay nako ana sauna. nag reinstall ko ug geniune nga OS. okay raman na cya nig install, modawat ra sa cd key, pero nig activate nimo bitaw thru internet, dili na cya mosugot kung na activate na daan sauna. kanang activation nimo is for the updates of your OS. imo buhaton is call the 1-800-xxx-xxxx hotline nila, then motubag rana ilang customer rep.

Pretty obvious. What you're missing is not the CD Key then... it's the activation. So valid gihapon ang imong OS. Meaning, GENUINE gihapon diba? For updates, you need to enter a registry key, not the license key.

if you have reinstalled from the original cd... you have to inform microsoft of your situation for them to do the necessary steps to give you reactivation.
