Peace bro, but I don't think I'm spreading 'misinformation' in here. I was merely commenting. And what I've written was "MS is PLANNING to stop distribution" as what i've read basing on research considering naa ko sa tech support environment. i believe kabalo ka unsa'y meaning sa planning ug unsa'y possibilities ana...MS might release Windows 7 (Vienna) by 2010 or 2011 and since it's the successor of Vista, planning to set the would-be predecessor OS to it's End-of-Life is not an impossibility (you might need to review the Life Cycle of a Software)...

Okay so your just actually speculating then, about what Microsoft will likely do in the future.

As far as know, (without extensive research and too bad I don't have technical support expertise such as yourself haha) a life cycle of a software depends on how long the manufacturer remains to support it. I'm sure it is the same way as any other releases. Microsoftjibbirish can't just say okay I'll stop Vista now because in 2011 i'm releasing this and that. I bet my ex's mum that even after Vienna is released in the public, XP is still alive and kicking, so how much more as to Vista's own lifespan.

And like you I own Vista but I got the ultimate version. God knows where I placed the freaking dvd as I haven't used it at all. Like the other guy said, let's all dump our games (heh) and start using Fedora Core 9.

nothing that MS says is really for sure, plus ur source is just as speculative as the rest of us. please. vienna or next OS wont be around soon. and if it does come out on time, which almost never happens, we have 3 OS to choose from XP vista or vienna, and if vienna DOES come out, how can it be better than vista? when vista has had so much time to be better and vienna being new? when vienna will come out people will whine about stuff like they are now with vista ^^

Vienna will most probably be a stripped down and better Vista. i really hope they come up with a better UAC or whatever it's called.

There are even vista themes designed for those who could only afford having an XP computer but would like to have the feel of vista's skin itself. Windows Blackcomb's development is currently undergoing major revisions with the new possible concepts that arise for the time being. The possibilities of the existence of XP even during the era of Blackcomb is not thin. The world will never be in unison when it comes to choices.
