OT. i can hang without the ball. i do play alot of basketball but just around our area. (inter-barangay level type of player) i do have a friend who just stands 5'5" who can dunk a basketball in a 10 ft rim with his two hands. thanx to VC, we developed our leaping ability but thats just it. as they say height is might in basketball.

im no carter fan,but to say the man's a whinner and halfhearted is just plain wrong..and as for him being more of a jumpshooter than an aerial acrobat,normal lang gyud na..if you have been watching bball intelligently(which i doubt) kasagaran gyud sa mga high fliers will tend to pull-up more j's than go for dunks when there getting older.case of point,MJ grabe na sad kaayo ang injuries iyang naagian,kung kabalo lang ka unsa kalisod pagbalik sa court after an operation. sure he's mot MJ in or outside the court but 1 thing is for certain,he can kick your butt if you played so stop posting nonsense comments about VC....

Until this year Vince Carter has been my idol, I have followed him since he was a rookie.... Never waivered my support pag binuang nya sa Toronto, even voted him as an all-star everyday!!! The DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JORDAN AND CARTER IS THAT JORDAN IS SOOOOO DRIVEN AND COMPETITIVE AND WON'T ALLOW ANYONE TO SURPASS HIM. Aside from that Jordan HAS A CONSISTENT outside game unlike Carter who'se FG% has significantly dropped!!! Jordan has an outside shot but WOULD DRIVE TO THE RIM AND GET A 3 POINT PLAY if he can see an oppurtuniy and not shoot an unadvised 3 point shot from 25feet!

Before this season, Carter whined for a fatter contract and opted out and Rod Thorn obliged. JKidd sacrificed a lower pay for Carter to get his fat contract and look at how he is playing!!! NO WONDER Kidd left the Nets!!!

As far as his teamates goes... Who would not discouraged when yor supposed "leader" is without fire... Know what, he has been averaging 38-41 minutes per game and still finished with less than 20points... The Nets expect him to mount their offense and to feed of his energy and momentum...

Jefferson is supposed to be his back up but it turns out RJ has been "the man" for the Nets this season...

Sad because an aging JKidd would have a higher chance to get a title with a softer Easter Conference...

"INDIANAPOLIS -- Vince Carter can be perplexing and frustrating to anyone coaching him, playing with him or watching him. He can be the best player on the floor sometimes or show such indifference that you question whether he's in the building or not.
Lately, there is no questioning where Carter has been. His focus has been on trying to lead the Nets into the postseason for the seventh straight season and first time without Jason Kidd.

Carter is playing his best basketball of the season, and the timing couldn't be better.

The Nets need someone to play at an All-Star level, to carry them in must-win games. Carter has been that guy, as the Nets hoped he would and nearly expected he would after signing the $66 million contract that played a factor in Kidd wanting out.
"This is my time," Carter said, "and the time is now."

If Carter said that sooner or played like that more consistently, Kidd may not have asked to be traded. But that's revisionist history because so many things led to Kidd's desire to be relocated to Dallas: not getting an extension (some say, because of Carter opting out of his contract), the Nets' not remaining championship caliber, and not having a consistent secondary superstar.

But it would be ironic and karmic if the Mavericks didn't make the playoffs and the Nets did, and the players he didn't think were good enough to be his teammates at this stage of his career have a big say in that, starting with Carter. "

The big question is why the Nets are not in the playoffs this year when you got RJ is scoring big time 24ppg, Josh Boone playing great and getting double-doubles, Nachbar has been great with Marcus and Sean Williams off the bench... Krstic is back. JKidd was UNBELIEVABLE when the season started, getting triple-doubles like crazy at 34... Devin Harris has been averaging 17ppg since he arrived in the Nets! What more can Carter ask for A fatter contract? Got that! Vince has been healthy for 3 season now for chrissake! The least he can do is step-up when it mattered the most... When things gets tough, VC fades... He is still 30 years old... He can still explode for 40 if he wants to. But why the hell do you pull up for off balance unadvised 3 pointers at 25 feet away in transition and off the screen when you got an open lane and when you have the athletic ability like VC does? FG% are down, 3pt FG are dismal


When you look at it, the Nets are pretty deep and talented especially in the softer Eastern Conference...

VC got a sprained ankle...Big deal! Dirk got a serious sprain but willed himself to come back for the Macs and win!

Part of me still believes in Carter... Chose my intramurals and liga jersey # 15 because I idolized him for so long... Even got a VC II, III shoes so for a moment I could pretend to be the Half-man-Half-Amazing... I just don't want VC to let me down like Shawn Kemp did when I was a kid... Can't believe he let T-Mac and kobe get ahead of him when he used to be better than them...
