i could be wrong here...but i think they just did what they have to do ONLY they had fun doing it.
Dili to siya minor nga procedure...surgery performed for removal of a foreign body inside the anus isn't considered minor.

Video documentation of medical and surgical cases is acceptable--for educational and medical evaluation purposes. The patient however has to sign an "informed consent" form and has the right to be informed about the risks and benefits of the coverage. [br]_________________________________________________

it is not only acceptable but it also serves as a very good learning tool for both students and teachers BUT if used only in the proper forum such as - in schools - and that is where the problem lies, it got out of hand, literally. even if the patient signs a consent form, I know for a fact that there is NOTHING ON THAT FORM that states the video be shown PUBLICLY like what is being done to it right now.

there is no medium more public than YouTube and that's a fact.

like I said, lawsuits that cater to cases similar to these are almost always won by patients hands-down. firings and heavy penalties are in order for those people concerned in the supposed discreet educational and medical evaluation of this video that got out in public.

there is no humiliation greater than the showing of this embarrassing video on a very public forum such as YouTube. malpractice lawyers are salivating about the opportunity of handling such a case, one of those ticket-to-fame-kinda scenario.

I hope the patient sue the culprits' arses to bankruptcy and set a deterrent for future medical practitioners to handle ALL patient records in utmost privacy and care next time. I hope the harshest penalties be imposed on the guilty party, deservedly so.

^ if he plays his cards correctly and get a capable lawyer, I still think he can get P5M minimum in this scenario. but if this were in the US, high profile malpractice lawyers would not settle for anything less than $10M. this is what those type of lawyers live and die for, high profile cases. imagine the possibilities of earning a name and hitting the jackpot at the same time if you handle such a case in the US. this is all you need, this is your ticket to fame and fortune.

I just don't know what the guy who posted this video on YouTube was thinking. But one thing's for sure, nothing similar would happen in the future if this turns out to cost them millions. no more handycams, celfons, cameras and similar stuff in the O.R.

that's a good thing for patients.

Mao jud, I agree! I'm glad nifile jud og kaso ang patient... bahala na'g uwaw kaayo para sa iya... These shameless buffoons need to be taught a painful and expensive lesson. They don't deserve to be called professionals.
