actually d natu ma compare ang UP or ubang sikat na school to USC i.e. USC-TC. analyze pud mo dha uy.

lahi ang environment in the first place. ang style pud sa pagtudlo lahi pud. also ang nagtudlo pud, mga factors ni maka apikto sa pag tudlo.

i guess these schools have their strong points , respectively , thats why they are known may it only be here in the Philippines or internationally..i havent heard of a school that is a center of excellence in all of their programs or courses..it is evident among students to claim that their school is the best, with the premise that they may have experienced it themselves, they may be loyal, or there is just complete bias.

coming from Silliman I can say our school does have it's major strong points like the rest, UP, USC, UST, ADMU, La Salle and the rest..

here are some Miscellaneous facts:

# The school is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as being a "Center of Excellence" in nursing, teachers' education, and Coastal Resources Management.
# Silliman University is CHED Center of Development in Physics, Biology, Marine Sciences Mechanical Engineering, Business and Management Education, and Information Technology.
# Silliman College of Nursing prides in it’s tradition of 100% passing average in the licensure exam since 1952 up to 2006, and 99.9% passing average in 2007.
# It is among the top 3 schools in physical therapy with outstanding board exam performance. The PT Department has produced graduates who made it to the Top 10.
# Silliman also consistently leads in accountancy as to the percentage of successful board examinees, and it is among the country’s top 3 centers for development in Business Education.
# The College of Agriculture ranked among the Top 3 schools in the country with highest passing averages at the recent First Professional Agriculture Board Examinations. ^^ recently MSU lost its COE status in Physics (now COD) while SU lost its COD (the pace of research and development no longer meet the criteria of CHED) the same with USC lost its COD status in Marine Biology sad to say but this is the reality---->> we're already lagged behind by our ASIAN
counterparts even Indonesian (4 universities outranked the philippines premier UP and made on the top 500 global univesities by THES QS)..
government should and must do something about this alarming issue!!

hahahaha UP gyud kay mga bryt gyud mo tanan diha! competitive na inig sulod pa lang. guaranteed bryt jud ang mga students. compared sa other schools nga ma mix ang bryt and the noobs. if ur smart u will get bored because the teachers will make sure the average person can understand. and if ur not so intelligent, u have a hard time. plus in USC and other schools there are so many other minor subjects and crazy rules that will distract you from learning.

UP, because you can eat and drink ur coffee while the teacher is discussing! and u can go to school wearing pajamas and slippers. so cool. you can be YAGIT and people won't mind because DUH, ur from UP. in other schools most of the people are more fashionable than smart. i love the UP environment. even the security guards are friendly... they don't look like toads waiting at the entrance gate (ehem ehem) with that frown on their faces. Turn off jud kaau the way security guards treat the students and visitors, USC is a good school but the security guards are just crazy. mang-harrasss. wtf.
