@divemaster,
interested ko mu dive... pro wala pako license... asa man magpa license? dugay na jud ko nahan mu dive.. abi nko sa manila ra ang mag license... sa aquamundo... kita rako sa tv...
@jimsuy: naay daghan diving instructor dire sa ato, all the dive shops in cebu have diving instructors but mostly just caters to foreigners. try scubaworld, beside hilton condotel in punta engaƱo, i think the present rate now for open water certificate is between 12k-15k, also its a 3 days course with film viewings, basic lessons in scuba diving and your final exam which will be sent to australia i think (or japan, can't seem to remember who's in charge of asia-pacific region for padi). your certificate will come from the padi head office in charge of asia-pacific region and not just from here in cebu or in manila.
wla pako ka sulay pero naa ko friend diving instructor.
id really like to try but wouldnt that be costly
if you want you can try "Discover Scuba", its an introductory course for those who wants to have a feel first for what really scuba diving is, you'll be given a few basic lessons on how to achieve neutral bouyancy, mask clearing underwater, and a few other techniques necessary to make your experience safe and enjoyable. maximum depth for "discover scuba" is just 10 meters, but believe me you'll see alot already on that depth. also you will know if you had this hidden fear inside of you when you are underwater so just in case you're really not into it then you can just back-out from taking the "Basic Open Water Course". the cost of this cousre (discover scuba) is probably around 5k nowadays.
wow well when ill have my vacation home i myt try that :mrgreen:

divemaster,
ang final exam kay naa sa lain country? gasto na pud na mga visa, plane ticket, etc... kana lng naa sa cebu...

asa na ang discover scuba sir?Originally Posted by Divemaster
@jimsuy: you will get your final exam within the diving school, what i mean is the result of your exam will be sent to the head office coz they will be the one who will process your certificate, your certificate is like a plastic id card with your pic on it and your level (open water, advance open water, rescue diver, divemaster , etc...), this id/certificate is what you will have to show to the dive shops whenever you want to go diving, this also proves that you are already a certified diver.
if you want to try "discover scuba" first, just go to any diveshops here in cebu, scuba world for example, and ask them about "discover scuba course" i'm sure they'll be more than happy to assist you.
