Your College Course: Personal or Parents' Choice?

Accountancy..my mom's choice though I learned to like it eventually. But got frustrated when I failed twice in the board exams (was working while reviewing for the exam). I'm now working as Technology Compliance Information Security Officer in a multinational company...hehehe, definitely no connection with my course but I'm enjoying it so far.

Nursing. Parent's choice. i hate i at first. but beginning to love it during my 2nd year. Now, im a nurse! working! yeah!!!

B.S Health Studies... my choice... for me, it's the most "acceptable" major after switching majors 3 times during my college years.

started with BS ChemEngg. my choice! libog pa ko that time as I was still 15. well 14 when I made the application. I didnt really know what i want to do.

But nag shift ko sa BS CompSci. ako ra gihapon choice! very supportive akong mga parents! limang ka... ang 4 year course akong gihuman in 5 years! nag summer pa ko! bwahahaha!!!

i wanna take up airline mgt. or anything that deals w/being on an airplane but my papa wants be to be a DOCTOR... ok, i wanna be a nurse na lang or a teacher just like my lola but papa still wants me to be a DOCTOR... mao i was enrolled to take up MEDTECH just like my mama... 3 years, i failed, shifted to BIOLOGY, graduated after 2 years... nakalarga sa Canada by 2005 not to work as a biologist or anything connected to my course, ay basta... WALA KO MA-DOCTOR... but wala naku blame ako parents coz i know things happens for a reason... kung na-doctor pa ko karon, ma-meet kaha naku ako bana swerte man gani na na-minyo ko sa saktong tawo... ok na lang pud ko nag-BIO ko, larga Canada ug naminyo ni ahem...

parents' choice kaayo! gi-threat ko sa una nga dli gastu-an sa college kung dli ko motuman sa ilang gusto.. the worst thing pa jud, ang ilang gpakuha nako is ang kurso nga pinaka-hate nko ug naa jud sa bottom sa akong list which is nursing.. although natuman na jud nko ilang gusto despite all the odds, dli gihapon ko komportable sa akong profession karon az in... pero wa na koy ma hims naa naman jud. suya lang ko sa mga highschool frends nko kay ang ilang mga profession karon is ang ila jud mga dream sa una and they look really satisfied unlike nako..haaayzz

but one thing is for sure, dli nko buhaton sa akong mahimong mga anak ang gihimo sa akong parents nako.. :mrgreen:
