Doesn't really matter who will fund this projects. Bsan local, regional, national. Or JICA or German govt. or taga Mars pa na. The point is its UTANG which needs to be paid.

Kung mangutang man gani make sure lang that the money will go to more pressing issues like better govt. hospitals, school buildings and all. Dili ingon ana ka humot sa press nga projects but direct benefit to the people. Kung mang-ambisyon man lang MRT na. Dili man tanan tao naa'y auto nga maka gamit sa SRP assuming i-open na ug balik. In Manila there's C5 for car owners who wants to avoid traffic in EDSA, and for those who wants fast commute there's the MRT.

Btw, MRT is income generating therefore there are direct revenues/benefits that can be derived from its operation. Ang mga bridges wla unless mag pa toll ka sa mga mu-agi. For sure naa'y indirect benefits as already mentioned. I'm not being selfish or anything am just being practical (Di ba trademark na sa pagka Cebuano?)

and how are you going to pay for that "utang" if you will put it in a non-income generating institution?

am sorry but when you said "in manila" i ddnt continue reading it coz i dont want cebu to be like manila and making manila as sa sample is not considerable

as ive said think of a project that would benefit the whole and would generate income.

The anwers to the queries have been answered in previous posts... Then again, if the "funds" intended for the project would be diverted to Cebu for the construction of its subways and MRTs, wouldn't those from Bohol and Negros protest against "Imperial Cebu" since this is a RDC-7 Project and not of Cebu City alone?

Speaking of medicines, hospitals, and school buildings, these are the responsibilities of the Congressmen assigned to each district...

Though the construction of the bridges would be costly but look at the long term benefits...

When construction of the second mactan bridge and even the first mactan bridge itself were conceived, these were first thought to be expensive.. "Why not just ride a barge which is much cheaper and does not involve much gasoline?" some retorted... "Only the rich can use it because they have cars..." according to some... But look at them (the Mactan bridges) now....

Again which is more impractical, spending national funds for the construction of the Clark-Subic-Manila Highway and the full blown development of the Clark International Airport (even if there's another international airport a few kilometers away).... Or the construction of these bridges which would benefit all people of the Visayas?

Yes, business makes the world go around my dear. Why do you think there's EVAT and all. At the end of the day its Revenues less Cost. Well Marvin, you're correct Manila may not exactly be a model for development. All I'm saying is that, there is a thoroughfare for cars which can be SRP and one for mass transpo which could be an MRT/LRT like project.

Anyway useless to discuss this issue pa, because I doubt it will ever happen in the next 3 to 5 years.

Advice lang no, Cebu is nice and all pero if you want the province to progress you should all be outward looking instead of being so xenophobic about ideas and all specially if it comes from Manila. What's so wrong with that? There are very well ran cities here, such as Makati, Mandaluyong and Marikina. Have you actually been here? Tried living here for a few weeks or months?

Before katong naa pa ko sa Cebu, I thought grabe gyud siguro traffic sa Manila and all, gubot and everything. Well guess what? Mas traffic pa diha sa Cebu. For the same distance, it makes me twice as much to get from point A to B.

I love Cebu better though, since its my motherland. Ang point lang is lets not all be too xenophobic. Geez.

Clark is being developed because NAIA is congested. Bsan gani domestic flights ma delay ug take off or landing kay traffic na sa runway. I should know I work for an airline and I travel often.

The nearest alternative is Clark Airport which is just about an hour or so drive to Manila. That's why also gina develop ang karsada leading to that airport.

Yes, I'm all for development but not at ridiculous cost.
