The Supreme Court (SC) reduced the passing rate for the 2007 exam from the normal average of 75 percent to 70 percent. Associate Justice Adolf Azcuna, chairman of the 2007 Committee on Bar Examinations said in a press conference Saturday, that this could have been the most difficult bar exam ever.

Azcuna said the adjustment in the passing rate was made not because the examinations were "unusually difficult".

"The correction (by the examiners) was unusually strict so that the justices of the court felt there was a need to lower the passing rate," he said.

He noted that the adjustments were made in the categories of civil, labor, and criminal laws.

"There was need to lower the passing grade in order to balance the correction in these three subjects," Azcuna added.

yup pinaka shortest na exam ni rn in history, strict checking and raymond fortun made our criminal law. Gamay ra ang questions sa bar then dagko og points so dako ang chance you wont get a 75 grade coz u need only to have 2 to 4 mistakes in each exam. Basically, 5 percent ra unta kapasar if 75 ang passing then gi adjust so nahimo ug 70 percent.
Nonetheless, other than hard work and discipline naa jud gihapon mga other factors to make one pass , prayers and good karma . Hoping na amu test booklets gichekan pag pasko na daghan sila bonuses and not during those times na gipang sapot ni sila. hehe

Azcuna said adjusting the passing rates was also done in previous years, but not since 2000.

ka notice pod ko sa UC... they are doing good na sa BAR... two successive na nga naa sila top... naa napod ni car...

last year top 8, and now naa napod top 10... to think... nagkalata ang mga mahal na law school ug naniguwang or karaan na... and yet UC managed to make it...even if they are new in the industry...
