besides if you watch again that fight, that particular punch was not really a POWER SHOT... it was Pacman's exhaustion (due to dehydration) that made him stay on the floor... he was pale and barely making it into the ring... the thai was the winner even before they climbed the ring... all he had to do was to show up in the fight and he can dispose Manny with just a mere thud...

one of the flaws of butchoy's fighting style, experts saying in unison, is his relatively WIDE stance... even FR early on tried to correct that... becoz by having your stance too wide, you tend to lessen the impact of your punches... however, Z cannot really abandon this particular stance as he uses this same stance to easily pivots to his right or left to successfully evade his opponent's punches

meaning its entirely up to Z either to abandon this stance or stay with it...

weve (our group) told him about this flaw personally however i got it that he is comfortable with this fighting style (stance) that he's not willing to gamble and abandon this and in the process, to his mind, expose himself to greater risk (of getting hit)...

one of the major reasons why Z is hard to hit is precisely because of this stance... he ducks a little low then pivots either to his right or left (but mostly to his right) and voyla, he's already out of reach of his opponent... this is why Butchoy is so sleek and too frustrating an opponent. however, to maintain this "sleek-iness" he has to sacrifice the power department.

FR pointed this out early on... right from the very first time he saw Butchoy. FR told us previously when we met him personally - "Gorrez' punches are not soft, its just that he has some flaws in his stance that he cannot get enough leverage in his punches..." thats straight from FR's mouth.

from my point of view z's fighting style is superb...

but the question is does he have enough power to knock his opponent down

unfortunately, he seems to not have that devastating one-punch power... what he does is to frustrate his opponent and break him down little by little

meaning he already gave everything he had, hes not convinced yet to abandoned his old, discovered style, according to him it is still the best n no one can convince him.. if dats d case its imposible for him to win world fights.. we can see in boxing reality, boxers remain n coaches do change.. i think his prime is over...

ic, i think it is a dangerous fight for Z, his fighting a champion, it took 4 yrs for pacman to fight marquez again n it was even a split decision, some say na controversial pa, n here Z becomes a contender in less than a year.. thrs nothing to hurry, battered by champions in 2 previous fights.. im sure he'l fight like taguro, sobra pa sa isang daang percento hehe.. i think we should also consider the safety of the boxers, Z's jaw is not gifted, some say glass jaw daw.. but im not a doctor or even a boxer, i dont know..
