    CORPORATE SETTING, an example:

A female CALL CENTER agent was promoted to supervisor in just a span of 1 YEAR. There were a number of them highly qualified for the position but nevertheless only one slot is available and the manager finally decided to promote her, leaving the rest disappointed and disgusted. The manager explained in full detail fairly and squarely to all why he chose her as the supervisor.

To cut the story short, she resigned as supervisor in less than 3 months after her promotion. Even with her leadership qualities, strong personality and good background, she wasn't able to stand the gossips & rumors that she is "very undeserving, swerte lang kno kay boss' favorite", and even to the point of silently branding her as a " boss' kerida" made matters worse. not to mention the silent treatments she got from her envious colleagues as well...a sad thing coz nothing in the ofc records that will show she is inefficient or ineffective at work.

she is quite very pretty and her looks may somewhat be intimidating also to other female co-workers perhaps. she also catches some guy's attention once in awhile than her female peers...ENVY, JEALOUSY, RUMORS, UNDERMINING, BACK-STABBING, made her being pulled down...

    SOCIAL CLUB SETTING, an example:

A newly elected set of officers were just inducted at a posh restaurant attended by almost all CAR ENTHUSIASTS CLUB members. The newly elected President comes from a middle-class family. Social standing doesn't matter for the club by-laws as long as they are avid car enthusiasts w/ good standing.

A few high-hat members didn't bother to show up the next meetings and were even thinking of quitting the club. They said that the club is regressing to the fact they they now have a "dili kaau datu nga president and some new members too". WOW!...and nothing in the records have shown that the club is remiss in their duties and activities as a club...

The question now is, how can we change and get rid of such cancer in the society?

    chemo therapy anyone? hehehe

    ---ooo---

we myt think that crab mentality is pulling down the other and would only somehow mean like the Bb Pilipinas 08 hullabaloo for example, "crab mentality if someone is only taking interest of the crown".

it's because another one clear definition of crab mentality is - if you are trying to succeed, your fellow Filipinos will do everything to undermine or second guess your success.

the sad thing about this is that people usually overlook or do not know consciously that they actually did or been doing it...

Hala cancerian rb ko, but surely I don't have this kind of mentality. But I do agree that a lot of filipino's are infected w/this kind of mentality, na pasa2 na gud through genes, hereditary bya pud a2 personalities. But I do hope this would change because it does not only harm people but the whole country as well.

..."Pacquiao could not hide his dismay during a news conference upon his arrival from Los Angeles when he was asked about doubts on his latest ring victory.
“That’s what hurts,” Pacquiao said in Filipino, describing the carping as “crab mentality.”

“It’s our fellow Filipinos who doubt my win and someone is even calling for an investigation. What kind of investigation is that, by the Senate or Congress?” he asked...

“In America, nobody says Marquez won. The only ones who are saying Marquez won are his trainer and those in his camp ... of course that’s natural for their camp ... In America, they were convinced about my win,” Pacquiao said."...

ESPN and other major sports broadcasting companies' scorecards show that Marquez won the match. A lot of boxing critics from all over the world are giving Marquez that fight.

Lucky for Pacquiao he was able to send Marquez to the floor once, if he didn't, for sure Marquez won.

Is Pacquiao trying to get into people's hearts by winning their empathy?

maybe...yeah, they can all give Marquez that fight. But did they ever contest their first fight and give Pacman their favor?

maybe what Manny felt is that instead of supporting him as a fellow pinoy, gi-criticize na man hinuon ang iyaha pgka daug...dili man na niya sala in the first place.
