yup i agree i don't think it's proper to call him NATIONAL HERO. i think it's more APPROPRIATE if we call his actions "HEROIC" rather than branding him as an actual HERO.

    there is a BIG difference.

^^Agree..so true............... For me,,true national heroes are still those who were Patriots that have shed blood and toil for our country's independence..

Manny Pacquiao is a celebrity, not a hero.

OT:Sad but true.

id rather have pacman as a hero than a traitor like aguinaldo who also led the magdalo soldiers but didnt win even a single major battle until now. the reason why michael jordan aint treated as one in his home town is that theyve got too many superstars in their country. our country has only one that created so much noise, and its only pacman. paeng may have been in the record books but very few people care about bowling same goes to billiards. he may not be a perfect example but so as jose rizal. he also made a lot of sacrifices which cant be done by a normal person. imagine the sacrifices during his extreme training before his fight which deprives him of his favorite food, leisure and most of all *** for 2 months.

kuyawa Manny dah. from a boxing hero, to Pinoy's modern-day hero to some...then to "EVANGELIZER"? sure ta ani? hehe

"At a thanksgiving Mass in Quiapo Church, Fr. Frank Villanueva hailed Pacquiao as an “evangelizer” for unabashedly showing his religious beliefs to millions of viewers with his prayers and sign of the cross before every round."---inquirer.net/sports/3-25-08
