as the Miss World Motto says, "BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE".

did u know that the complete name of Bb Pilipinas is "Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated (BPCI)"?

BPCI donates all its earnings to a string of orphanages in Metro Manila including day care centers in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
i am not aware of that. salamat sa info, giddyboy.

i wonder, how much money is needed to organize these events, how much is generated and how much is "donated" to hunger-stricken kids and calamity victims? hmm.. math math. do the math.

i think the reason why she won was...

    1. pwede ra bitaw magdala ug interpreter sa pageant night kung dili lang jud makaya. hahahahahahaha.

yeah, she needs to enroll to speech and grammar lessons jud. she could have accepted that she felt nervous or something, that, we might excuse her for uttering those off-tangent grammar . pero hambugera man. dah. gaba lagi.

i wonder what she felt right after that, she must have felt so devastated!

Beauty pageants like Bb Pilipinas and Miss World are not only for entertainment, spectacle, and grandiosity. In the bigger picture, they are largely for the benefit of hunger-stricken children and victims of catastrophes...they have a decent purpose and noble goal...
i think we perfectly understand the purpose. but the purpose can still be served without having to show off so much skin or to compete who looks better. personally, amusement/entertainment in this form misplaces brains or talent literally and figuratively beneath the surface of the skin or waistline.

of course, i'm not saying that most ladies who try their luck in pageants are necessarily brainless or bereft of talent but there are equally or more brainier women out there who exude beauty and womanhood by the amount of what they know or the skill they possess but unfortunately do not have the numbers or the bulges to make it to the tape.

i personally think beauty pageants promotes a sense of beauty in tightly-structured measures which shouldn't be.

giddyboy, hindi kaya mas malaki pa ang nagagastos na pera sa pag-organize sa event kaysa sa na generate na money?

i dunno...let's do a rough math...say, every sponsor gives P10M endorsement per pageantry and we have around, say, 10 sponsors. that will give us 100M. add pa nato ang entrance tickets at 1k. ibutang nato 3,000 attendance so naa tay 3M. total proceeds is 103M.

    103M - space rental (1M) - overhead cost (30M) - logistics (1M) -talent fees (20M) - paid ads (10M) = net 41M

wala pa nay labot sa nidiretso ug hatag sa foundation w/o asking for anything in exchange...

IF WE ASK kadako sa gasto noh, 62M man...well, it helped in spurring economic activity...it provided jobs & business opportunities along the way. wala na nausik, daghan napiskan sa grasya...

actually, kng business pa na, a 30-40% net profit margin is competitive...but the foundation is non-profit man, non-stock pa gyud.
