what's the recommended age for ear cropping? think the older the pet get's the harder is the ear cartilage.
never cropped my minpin & I don't regret it either

Well history have some defense for earcropping. Terriers are bred to hunt vermins and floppy ears can be a target when they corner vermins on their holes. Shepherd/hunting dogs like Kangals and Ovcharkas, Dogo Argentinos, Great Danes have their ears cropped to avoid nasty wounds during fights with bears, mountain lions, wolves while guarding the flock. Some reasons are quite tragic. Bull terriers and other dog breeds used for dogfighting have cropped ears because floppy ears can be a target. Some crop their ears to make the dog look more intimidating.

Ear cropping is seen as standard for some breeds e.g. Doberman, Boxers, Great Danes much like tail docking is to rottweilers.

Bah ear cropping doesn't have any medical benefits and is used for cosmetic purposes. Sort of uneccessary na karon. Yeah it is painful to the dogs but hatagan mana sila painkillers. Adto lang jud ka sa kanang trusted na vet to avoid comlications like heavy bleeding and infection.

Ummm 9-12 weeks bai... 2-3 months.... Earcropping is a matter of preference.

Ear cropping is generally cosmetic but it does offer the advantage of better air circulation and fewer ear infections. Something most Labrador and Golden Retriever owners may envy.
