Nah, I've been using Ubuntu 7.10 and what you said ain't true. If you know how to work your way around XP/Vista.. then it's MUCH easier for you to use Ubuntu.Originally Posted by lokster

i havent tried it, but my friend keeps whining about his nvidia and linux not working on his laptop. WHICH linux i really dont know coz i really never cared. and this is getting out of topicOriginally Posted by vern
@lord_ac not good for me cause they think im just looking for an excuse to end the call - that "we cant troubleshoot any further cause of limited admin rights. contact microsoft"
pro yes. i think vista once stable na will be a very good o/s. like XP prof before
Official nVidia drivers are not required on Linux and if you wanted them, all your friend would have to do is install the restricted drivers, which on Ubuntu is two clicks. If you can't do that, I don't know how you are going to use Windows.Originally Posted by lokster
This is totally on topic. People talk about Vista and Linux without actually using them ... hence Vista is supposed to be very bad/needs to be "fixed" and Linux is hard with bad hardware support. People need to stop talking out of their ass and actually use the software as it was meant to be used, meaning meeting the system requirements, learning to use the environment, and sticking with it for more than first impressions of how pretty the GUI is.
hahaha i totally agree with you vern... usually the ones whom are making this talk are the ones who haven't use such OS.. mayng laki man gud saons.. i have use Linux OS i accept that it is very hard for me at the first time using it.. nosebleed kow.. im totally ----->
hahaha

Each OS has its own merits. Whatever tickles your fancy.
