Just wondering why you're still reading his column when you say he is a pothead and you don't trust people doing pot. Aren't you contradicting yourself when you say it ? It doesn't make sense to me that you still "follow" his column you know. You "follow" him to torture yourself or you just know he's a good writer in spite of his being a pothead yet you're too proud to admit he's good at what he does. Which is which ?
There are a lot of creative artists who do the same but still it doesn't take a wee bit of talent, skill or whatever you may call it - away from them. If I appreciate a person's God-given talent in whatever form - I will say so no matter if such a person uses pot, drugs, or even if his gender preference is different than mine.

Let's just say I will believe you if you have proof or a link for that. Whether you trust him or not is your problem- not mine. You don't have to read his column for all I care. Until then, one has nothing to do with the other.

yeah, he is in fact a good writer. but it doesn't mean his opinions are "always" agreeable...

    that's a surprise. i didn't know de Quiros smokes pot...is that a fact? maybe it's just for medicine...hehe

    ---ooo---

as for me, CBCP is not weak without Cardinal Sin. they are somehow stronger w/ their "collective stands", now that they don't have an authoritarian leader anymore to bow at his every whim. Thing is, some quarters perceive them as becoming more and more into "Cardinal Sin wannabees"...

Thank you for saying de Quiros is a good writer. And if we don't agree with everything he's said- that's fine.
Just glad to know there's someone here who's admitted he is a good writer. Otherwise- I'm inclined to believe we're the ones smoking pot here not de Quiros. lol

"The people can no longer be fooled into being used by the opposition in their attempt at a power grab.

The opposition even baited the bishops into drumming up a people power revolt by bewailing that if Cardinal Sin were alive, he would be leading that revolt again. To their dismay, the bishops did not fall into the trap and stood by the people in their search for truth."

Long ago ? According to you. It goes both ways, bro. If kapoy ka- mas kapoy ko. You're the one who started it - then show us proof - evidence - link- whatever- naa man kaha in one of his columns. Get on with it. Pangukay jud asa.
Again, you start another one - idol nasad. Where /when did I say he's my idol. I don't have to idolize someone just because I like the way he writes. Ikaw cguro- you idolize people. I don't.
Finish the pot thingy first before you go in another direction. Ma waylaid ang pot topic.

it was long, long ago. he did not categorically say he smokes pot but he certainly implied that he likes or is favorable in legalizing it. then i saw him in person and it fits his profile and personality, so it all made sense. it's just one of those things... do i have to prove that in court? it won't bother me if you won't believe it anyway.

BTW, don't link one of my statement to the other. Yes, he is a good "writer", in that context but his opinions are sometimes ridiculously contradicting and does not make sense.

His opinion and his writing DOES NOT necessarily go together. Catch my drift?

You can catch your own drift cause it's not fair to just say someone smokes pot and we just take your word for it. Be it long long long long long ago or just yesterday.
The way you said it - you're clearly demeaning the writer by implying he smokes pot. So what? Again, until you can show proof, evidence or just a link - be CAREFUL & FAIR in whatever you have to say concerning people you don't PERSONALLY know. You even said he DID NOT categorically said he does smoke pot but he just IMPLIED that he likes or is favorable in legalizing it. Maybe he has a friend who does.
Furthermore, your own opinion after seeing him in person according to you, fits his profile & personality and it all made sense? To you perhaps. But who are you to judge his appearance? What is the profile & appearance of a pothead anyway ? Are you now claiming to be an expert on the subject ?
