mark ,,,, is the gps in the n95 accurate does it point to the exact location? how about comparing it to an external gps device
thanks.
ang gps sa n95/n82 can use the pre-installed Nokia Maps which can use:
1. Bluetooth GPS
2. Assisted GPS
3. Integrated GPS
4. Network Based
to enable/disable any of the four just go to:
Tools/Settings/General/Positioning/Positioning Method
its better to enable only integrated gps para free. if you enable the others, mugamit na xa ug 3G connection
but is it accurate.......how accurate is it??Originally Posted by chanbri
n95 & n82 pareho ra ni sila ug accuracy?
n95 and n82 same phone, different shell.
accuracy, i havent compared but should be the same.
accuracy can be dependent on location and other environment variables as any other in-built gps phones.
if your serious about gps better to get a gps device like for your car.
error rate of 10m as with ALL internal or external GPS devices that are not US military grade.Originally Posted by springbok

how cool is that ! wow!
yep. its accurate enough. though in low signal areas mas dugay ang iyang refresh rate and not so accurate.
i tested this while driving in open area from work til going home (i live in the 1st floor of a 20ft HDB flat surrounded by many other flats) so you can imagine that this area is bound to have some low signal.
the test showed the gps was pretty accurate while in open area. but as i near home, mulag na xa and when i stopped, dugay ghapon xa niupdate and when it did locked it placed my location just across the street. so as Markyap pointed out, should be less than 10m off. and by the way, for this test i enable all 3 - assisted gps, integrated gps, and network based. i used my 3g connection for this.
i will try to test just using the integrated gps. but i expect worst results than above scenario.
i pressed 0 and nothing happen guys... im globe user
go to:
Tools/Settings/General/Positioning/Positioning Method
1. Bluetooth GPS
2. Assisted GPS
3. Integrated GPS
4. Network Based
which of these 4 are checked?
if you dont want to get charged, make sure you only have integrated gps checked/enabled.
sometimes, if you are in a location where there are lots of interferance say indoors/basement/tunnel/etc then its likely that you wont be able to get your location. your gps cannot connect to the satellites to get your location.
also, when you pressed '0' did you notice that 3 lights in the lower right turn from orange to green?
coz if it turns to green means your gps has locked on to the satellites. your unit will lock on to 4 satellites to pinpoint your location. read the manual. its stated there.
