i have a dual processor unit PIII 866.....any advice as to what OS and application software that will maximize the speed of my CPU?

this is a dual processor pentium III 866 with ASUS cuv4x-d na motherboard, 512mb sdram memory, 128mb video card, creative live, 120 gb hardisk drive, the package includes scanner and cd-dvd rw.......ang OS is only win98SE now i have migrated to winxp as per suggestion by AMD pra magamit ang duha ka processor.....so what else pra magamit pa ni cya nko nga dili pang server.....now i have already installed photoshop CS....i wanted to use apllication na magamit jud ang duha ka processor kay sayang man kno....
