alomost the same ang price around 4.5-5k sa mga local store, LG nalang Bro tested nani nako ang duha gyud, ang LG only 1 ra ako nahibaw an na guba sa SAMSUNG daghan nako na dungan nga na nga guba, pero ang naka nindot sa samsung mas pas pas iyang response time compare sa LG (gamay raman Diff. ) pero ang LG mas HARD core Gyud!!!

i bought mine from jobhim23 for P4050. try PM'ing him if this offer is still available. last time i checked from other stores, prices ranged from P4200 to P5000. PCX also sells this for P4050 but they currently don't have any stocks. the last store i know of which has this item available and cheaper is Accent Micro (P4200).

if u got the $ and the spot to buy go for the no.1 optical device --> "Plextor"!!!! right now the latest 16x burner in their product is a SATA DVD burner w/ 8mb transfer

8MB/s transfer is not really that fast. this is as good as burning 6X in DVD only. note that to burn @16X speed, you need at least 21MB/s transfer rate. the 8MB you're mentioning here must have been for the buffer underrun. btw, the LG is considered the fastest in 16X recording with its P-CAV write strategy.

the Plextor has its glory on the CD age. if i have the $$, i'd rather go for a mix 2 drives from NEC, BenQ or LG.

i can't give suggestions on SATA since i don't have one. but 16X for these drives are already fast enough. burn time takes less than 6 minutes

your drive is a rebadged Lite-on SOHW-1633S. AFAIK, CMC media are quite variable in quality. if you burn a new batch of these media, resetting the learnt media calibration of your drive using the EEPROM Utility for Lite-on/Sony CD/DVD writers might help.

also, do a transfer rate scan of your media with Nero CDSpeed. go to Nero -> Nero Toolkit and select Nero CD-DVD Speed. load your media and press F2 to run the transfer rate test. this will tell you how readable your disc is. no errors means the disc is fine. if you're burning data, create a checksum of all files. you can use either CRC32 or MD5 for this. use this to verify the data after burn instead of Nero's verify.

anyway you are right about CMC comes in variety. i checked my old disc and they are CMCs. hmmm hopefully my next batch wont be like this my bad batch.

if you have the internal type, then this is GSA-4163B. the other one, GSA-5163D is an external type.
