tama si bro EarlZ...power failure ra imong no.1 enemy aning pag update sa bios...may i ask...socketed na imong bios or surface mounted gyud sa mboard? that's one reason why i choose mboards nga socketed ang bios kai puede ra nimo ilisan ang bios chip just in case ma guba..kung sipyat ka update puede nimo tangtangon ang chip and have it reflashed sa Green Valley...so have NO FEAR...

other thing to watch out is basin sayop ang firmware ang imo na-flash.hehe! Kasulay ko ani, wala nay display sa monitor. Mura kog buta nga gatype sa command.

that doesnt happen unless you use a force flash command, if you did mess up the motherboard bios then theres no way to fix it aside from a hot flash, if its the VGA then you can automate the flash via bat and autoexec

Just watch out Some winflash application will mess up the BIOS. tried it twice already. After flashing using winflash black screen.

Best if you use Diamond flash, AMI flash or any DOS based flasher recommended by the manufacturer. Best to stay away from winflash.
Anyway of you'd make a mistake flashing your BIOS Bossing Ruel is always there to fix the problem. With a fee of courese.
hotflashed on my DFI before.

However with my MSI mobo I can update the BIOS using my internet explorer through their website using active X, without any problems.
I think only MSI has this feature BIOS update through Internet Explorers Active X.

Winflash maybe the only application you need to stay away from I heard some Asus Mobo also has some problems with winflash.

just flashed downgraded mine D865PERL just a while ago using floppy disk method (had to dig through my stuffs again ) as USB drive method didn't seem to work this time for me with the Intel board. downgraded from BIOS P21 to P19 as i was having "reboots-instead-of-shutdown" problem...

Ako ra gipaminaw ang sound sa floppy na nagtuyok. nagcge man gud ko swap a2 floppy ky dili na masulod ang backup then basta magsave kog bios kay ako man i-rename as "BIOS.bin" para dali ra itype. Mao to nga lain nga bios ang naload instead...
