I have yet to play Khan and Tantra.

I have tried Pristontale, Ragnarok and MU Online a few years back.
RAN Online, Silkroad Online, 2 Moons, Flyff, RF Online and Perfect World as well.

Pero the best MMORPG would be World of Warcraft, the community, economy, game-client features, game features, endgame incentives, anti-grind innovations, group effort factor, the game lore, the customer support and of course, iyang PvP even just the basics, not yet counting all those other PvP-oriented scripts and events are unmatched by other MMORPGs.

Katong wala pa ni try ug WoW, find a friend who has an account and and try to play for a month or two, daghan kaayo mo ma-sulti later on when you play other games nga "hala, ila unta gi butangan in-ani prehas sa wow"... I myself ignored WoW for 2years.

    on another note:

For me pud, when "online game" gani istoryaan, I immediately do not think of games with online-play support. only those games with a game client and needs internet connectivity to play ra. Games like Starcraft, Counterstrike, Halo, etc has in-game online-play support pero with the advent of VPN apps like Hamachi, even games with network-play and no online-play can be played via internet ra. Also, games like Kingdom of Loathing, Neopets, Archmage, Utopia, Travian and those other (mostly-)text-based online games, i find "web-based game" a better term (as in website/webpage-based)--even if those games offer a small client.

In summary, "Online Games" are the ones you cannot play, at all, if you aren't online even if you have the game client.

Iyang offset kay ang "web-based games", those that you cannot play, at all, if you aren't online even though you don't need a client to play it at the very least.

Then games possible with multiplayer even if they're not supported in-game can even be played online (heck we can even play the family-computer-era bomberman via internet--using emulator+VPN) so they aren't really "ONLINE GAMES".

opinion lang nako, para naay boundary gi-unsa nako pag refer games as to their multiplayer capability.
pero let's say for the sake of this thread, kun online games na sila tanan, WoW gihapon akong vote even though i prefer playing other games...

FYI, WoW is one of the best but not the greatest MMORPG...yes it's kinda good but it still lacks some other aspects particularly in "GRAPHICS". gameplay is still the same as with Ultima Online 12yrs. ago and it's rather stagnant.

compared to those other (most) games, WoW remained faithful to the Warcraft universe and lore graphics from which it is based, if you played the usual F2P games locally served here in our country, ma-lain-nan jud ka at first kay cartoonish kaayo ang WoW kay mahulog "colorful" siya kay grabe ka diverse ug color theme-ming iyang various areas. this is not the case with most MMORPGs (kulang sila budget for texture and creative artists? hehehe). WoW graphics loads faster than most MMORPGs of the same minimum system requirements (i know because i tried loading it from Pentium 3 til Core 2 Duo systems), nag compromise sila sa lag mao siguro wala gipa sobraan ang effects pero if you look closely it has very fine effects, enough for very fine detail you won't even see in most games but doesn't lag ra pud during graphic intensive scenes. Iyang areas though large has almost no loading screens, only between really major zones (and of course instanced areas).

If you haven't played, you will also appreciate the real dimensions of insides of structures based on what you see outside, there is still no loading screens if you get inside structures pud. If you see a small house, you will get inside without loading and the inside is just as small as you imagined them from the outside minus of course the thickness of the walls and ceiling. A lot of MMORPGs do not follow this bisan mas practical ni siya in giving realism to dimensions of the game environment. (dili kaya sa ilang programmers siguro haha)

Fans of Starcraft and most RTS games will appreciate terrain advantage pud, although dili ni siya purely "visual" highlight sa WoW it is a strategic advantage when used together with the element of surprise since players in the lower level will have difficulty pud actually trying to get a good look at those attacking from higher ground. There is no damage modifier for the terrain factor pero the visual advantage of terrain difference is enough to provide this kind of advantage.

please tell me what game you considered having "better graphics" than WoW and how, i will try to play it as well so i can compare myself. So far, aesthetically and programmably better coded ang graphics sa WoW. you can even see the difference of how much less graphic lag ang very far distanced visible terrain naa sa WoW whilst still maintaining stunning detail compared to other games with far draw distance enabled on the same system specs.

i haven't played Ultima Online, would you care to elaborate this gameplay of 12yrs ago?

Have you seen The "D.I.C.E. 2008 - Blizzard Team Video' It pretty much explains everything about blizzard and there games! 'What was the number 1 priority for you to put in World of Warcraft?' 'How come the graphics is not great compared to other MMORPG'S?' 'History of Blizzard' 'How come every game blizzard release since 1996 its been #1 every year & is a top seller?' 'How come World of Warcraft has 10 million paying Subscribers?' It's all there...

    Video Link @ Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/video/extras...ml?sid=6186014

It's not all about the graphics, why do people think its all about the graphics? Blizzard is smart enough to let other people who have lower spec'd computers to play World of Warcraft! It's all in the plan... Why make a game where only "Rich" people with "High End" Computers should play ? When they could let people with "Low End" Computers play ? and make more money? Which has happened, which is all blizzards games! World of Warcraft can run on a Pentium II computer itself, i have tried myself and it still playable! This is one of Blizzards Strategy's and also one of the reasons why a-lot of people play this game! because you don't need to have a super high end computer to play it!

It is the Greatest MMORPG in the world today, It's the only MMORPG that has reached 10 Million Online PAYING Subscribers & they hold the Record.
It holds the record in most sold game in 24 hours which is 2.4 million copies

and recently at Dice 2008 (Which is like the Grammy awards for video games) World of Warcraft won the 2008 BEST MMORPG of the year. and once again proves itself as the King of MMORPG's. Btw one of the Nominations are Guild Wars, Lord of the Rings Online, etc.

And you can watch the whole event on Gamespot for free! (with all other awards such as... "FPS OF YEAR" "GAME OF THE YEAR" "ACTION GAME OF THE YEAR" etc.)

    Dice 2008 Video Link @ Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/video/extras...pslot;action;2

Please watch the whole event, Even most gaming companies admit there inspiration and motivation is from blizzard games! All there in the video.

Also a-lot of people never tried World of Warcraft in the first place, because its very expensive? like 650 pesos a month! but trust me its all worth it! Why do you think 10 million plays it ? Numbers don't lie. Also a-lot of People say it sucks because they can't afford it. Which is just stupid! Try going to work and make money, its not the games fault you can't afford it.

GAMEPLAY of current mainstream MMOs are still the same as 12yrs. ago...

it's still the same hack and whack then you get a reward. pvp is irrevocably the same. quest doesn't fare well as well, you need do do that, do this and you get that. too much of those sh*tty blah blahs!, and i've grown sick of them. twas fun when the first MMO came out (ULTIMAonline and Everquest) with the concepts of gameplay (the one one i've discussed) for it was the first one and was very exciting. but since then, it has become generic for every MMO, be it western (NorthAmerican/Europe) or eastern (korean/japanese). the elements of gameplay experience have been the focus with every MMO (major/minor labels).

    all i can say, STAGNANT!!

just my two cents, no offense though!!

PS: i've been sticking my a$$ on my pc for years now, doing alpha/beta testing for MMOs, looking for the one game i can sink my teeth into...
