ATI is doing great to keep up with Nvidia counterpart, ATI has Done a Nice job with those new driver releases and fixes that actually results in improved performance for ATIs part.

I dunno with AMD procs though. With the phenom's humongous die size which 65nm quad core which left no room for Cache.
Hopefully AMD will release their 45nm on time and their B3 Phenoms which supposedly has improved higher clocks.
