Maybe you do have a point there but it just sounds that you are putting more weight on frat violence . How come Davao is still a favorite spot for tourist and locals alike ? They dont have or less frat violene but rampant on vigilante style killings or say Palawan is still a place to be even though kidnappings happened there at one time .

i remember a long time ago when fraternities do community work to clean up areas, etc. can't they realign there excess energy and frat org loyalty to something productive.
Actually bai it still the same way the frat orgs do the way they do it long time ago . We still do and will always be productive and tries to be lesser destructive unless provoked . I will be using a lot of space here if I have to lay down the cards of the productivitiy of AKP in specific .

say.. street clean up na contest for each frat or community beautification or education.. cottage industry. there are a lot of these fratmen who does not have work. they can be more productive if they will be taught/ undergo training to divert their attention from killing each other to heloing each other improve their ways of life.
Though we did not exist to compete with others , we do it to reach our goals and mission statements of the fraternity . Though the claim of a lot of members are unemployed , AKP is in the process now of giving workshops , leadership trainings , job huntings , etc . It will be helpful to them in the future .

i think most of them have some imbalance also in the core unit (family) or perhapos socieity that is why they resort to this type of thing.
That would apply to people in all walks of life . Fratman or not , we are still subjected to that problem thats why people tend to find an escape route of it and resort to something they enjoy but not healthy .

tsk tsk tsk.. maau pa to sa una when frat men manglapaso sa mga boarding house or laba sinina.. malipay pa nga people.. hehehe
What you mentioned is true but it only applied to the happy people who are their SPONSORS w/c those chores were applied as SERVICES and part of the initiation . I dont find it amusing when one is happy because someone got exhausted for personal gains . We do still have projects that we dont personally gain but the generalpublic enoys .

There has been a lot of speculations and versions of the story . I did not believed in those and instead asked the people who knows it best and just makes sense to me . The brods of dekada 70 .

    - umbrella organization mentality
    - UE Caloocan stabilizaton

I dont want to be called biased because these are the reasons I know that makes sense . If lytslpr or satoy can come up with their knowledge of it would be nice to inform the curious istoryans .

Sir it is just like saying also hopefully wala nay kurakot na govt official . hehehe not to discourage people but saying like when will this end , when will this stop , hopefully it will cease , of course who would not want it but it is human nature . Say it did really ended , but what if other frats got into it .... what difference did it make while AKP n TGP was into it ??

Best thing to do is understand the system and instead of putting them down , lift them up by supporting them in their projects and cause etc physically or mentaly .

To my Skeptron friends in this forum:

Today, June 11 we will be having our Leadership Training Seminar. It is a 2 day live-in seminar to be well-particpated by all the chapter Grand Triskelions, CPC & CTAO officers. Yours truly had the privilege of outlining the agenda and the seminar guidelines. I will be delivering a motivational speech to all the participants as well. With your trust I included in the seminar outline ways for peace and means for the personal growth and wholistic development of our fraternity. That means, we will try our best to inculcate a different vision and perspective and in the process they will no longer focus on violence of retaliation and will eventually have no interest in it anymore. We will rechannel their interest, energy and talents.

My only request from you is to give it time and basically encourage your brods to stand down. I know that the skirmishes are not as frequent anymore compared to before. I salute AKP for that! We both know that there are still "isolated cases" but we don't have control on that anymore. The best thing to do is not support it and not to lift a hand for retaliation but let us still continue supporting the victims but not "operations." "Operations" are costly and risky and even more costly when there are casualties or there are people who get arrested. Expensive in terms of money and costly to our connections. I know that all of you will agree with me on that.

Hopefully we can attain the much awaited peace for the island of Cebu.

Pray for our endeavor and God Speed to you my fellow fratmen.

    Mabuhay tayong lahat!!!
