been there during one of our company dinners. wala jud maski usa namo giganahan didto. dili man sad tingali kay tungod lahi ang type sa food ila gina-serve mao wala mi lamii kay pareho ra man ilang food sa gina-serve sa giuseppe's ug sa la tegola unya lamian man mi sa giuseppe's ug sa la tegola. kaupat na cguro mi balik2x sa giuseppe's. mas nindot pa jud ang service sa giuseppe's.

i suggest instead of going to gustavian, lahos na lang mo sa giuseppe's. it's just a few meters away. try their parma e mango and their baked cheese. yummy!

i wouldn't compare the flavors of gustavian and guiseppe because their styles are different. la tegola is like standard italian, guiseppe's is sicilian, gustavian's is continental european. its like comparing apples with oranges.

i like guiseppe's too. yes, try their parma e mango (ripe mango slices wrapped in parma ham & sprinkled with parmesan).

price range for both restaurants are similar. can't remember about the service charge. just assume that they do charge it. 10%

Indeed, Gustavian's classifies itself as continental European. When we dined there we ordered their Italian dishes. I guess it's still fair to compare the 3 dining establishments regardless of which region in Italy their culinary inspiration comes from.

Compare for example each dining establishment's appetizer platter (sausage, ham, cheese, olives, etc.) and pasta. Sure, the taste would be different because the chefs are probably from different regions of Italy. But then, if I find the crispy pata at Gerry's Grill bland and find those served at the Laguna Garden delicious should I excuse Gerry's Grill (my apologies to Gerry's Grill and it's fans) simply because it's from Manila and their palate is different from Cebuanos?

at Gustavian's, for a group of 20, our bill amounted to Php30,000. that was last year. and their staff were pretty much unfamiliar with what's on the menu. i guess they had just opened when we went there.

last time we went to Giuseppe's, which was last month i think, our bill also amounted to Php30,000 (for 23 people). but almost each one of us took home a box of Don Carmelo (that's 20 boxes!). yummy

but, please try both if you can. malingaw ka sa display sa Gustavian's.

It's true, you should really visit Gustavian. I'd recommend it if you want something new

    Good luck!

P.S. the last time we went there, we gasto as much as 400 per person..with wine na xa..so it's sulit!
