murag sa ako nadunggan kay bisan kinsa ra man tali makasulod basta worthy nga makasulod.
True but you have to know the basic requirements which are :

    - belief in a SUpreme Being
    - male without prior records of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
    - you have to knock because they dont invite

wala ko kabalo sa criteria sa pagsulod kay ang mga MASON ra nahibalo ana tingali.
Not necessarily . Even if you check official websites of Masons , they tell it there and give you an outlook and idea .

nindot ni nga org o brotherhood. usa man tali ni sila sa pinaka-una sa kalibutan.
Very old indeed , history tells bisan sa panahon ni haring Solomon ni exist na ang Freemasonry but then who knows ni evolve na lang ang Craft from what we know today regarding the brotherhood .

    Freemasonry

    by abuGian

Freemasonry is a “secret society,” a global brotherhood or fraternity upholding the principle “Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.” First established in London in 1375, the Masons were at first mostly craftsmen who were able to roam from projects to projects with their skills. But during the Seventeenth Century they began admitting honorary members who had nothing to do with stone-working. And on June 24, 1717 the United Grand Lodge of England was set up as a governing body supervising their transition from a guild of craftsmen into a social movement. From then, the rites & rituals performed when they meet as a Lodge in “Masonic Temples” (also called “Masonic Centers”) were regulated. Now, they accept members from almost all religions usually requiring the belief in a “Supreme Being” which they call the “Grand Geometrician,” the “Great Architect of the Universe” or the “Creative Principle.”

    A Secret Society.

One of their symbols, is made up of compass & a square representing the tools of the trade of their craft along with the letter “G” which could mean “God” or the “Supreme Being.” Given their diverse religious background, these terms, especially the term “Supreme Being” is subject to different interpretations accommodating almost all world views including deism (the belief that “God is out there but not here”) and the eastern beliefs. Although information about freemasonry are made available to the public & their Masonic Centers are easily identifiable, the free masons are secretive in their rituals & in their codes of recognition. Going back to the symbol, it is said that this symbol is shown in their meetings along with an open a “Volume of Sacred Law” which could be a Bible, a Qur’an, their Masonic Constitution or even a blank book.

Once you join in you start from being an “Entered Apprentice” till you work your way into the second degree called “Fellow Craft” & then into the third degree called “Master Mason" Till you complete it all the way into the fourth degree called “Royal Arch.” Each degree is said to be attained by taking part in rituals of medieval themes and through studies of lessons that one interprets by himself. The rituals by the way are said to be similar to the Mormon rituals.

In freemasonry, there is no central over-all authority, instead they have what they call sovereign & independent geographic “jurisdictions” the others may or may not recognize, called “Grand Lodge” or “Grand Orient.”

    Philippines’ freemasons.

Prior to the establishment of the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of the Philippines on December 19, 1912 (under the Grand Lodge of California) there has been previous establishments of Masonic Lodge in the Islands long before that, the first of which was formed by Jose Malcampo y Monge who became the first Governor General of the Philippines however they only accepted Spaniards then. But many of the heroes of the Philippine revolution were Masons. They joined in when they studied in Europe, they were Marcelo H. del Pilar, Gracioano Lopez Jaena, Andres Bonifacio etc. even the national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal was believed to be a Master Mason at Logia Solidaridad, Madrid, Spain.

    The initiation.

In the book, The World’s Greatest Cults (Chancellor Press), pp. 46-47, Nigel Cawthorne described the initiation in the freemason,

By this time the rites & rituals of the Masons had become regularized & remain similar to this day. The lodge met in private, often in the back room of a tavern, where business was conducted & ideas freely exchanged. But the ceremonials took place in a special lodge room, which had been decorated for a purpose. While the masters & officers of the lodge gathered in the lodge room, the initiate entered an anteroom, where the tyler – an archaic spelling of ‘tiler’ – waited with his sword drawn.

The initiate was then instructed to remove his jacket & bare his left breast – presumably to demonstrate that he was not a woman (women are not usually allowed to join the Masons). The candidate then emptied his pockets of money; he was told that he should remember that he entered the order poor & penniless whenever he met fellow Masons in straightened circumstances. The left leg of his trousers was then rolled up above the knee & his right foot was ‘slipshod’ – that is, the initiate put on a slipper instead of a shoe. (Only those who have been initiated know what this rite means, but it is thought to have some connection w/ the founder of the Jesuits, Ignatius de Loyola, who had a bad foot.)

The initiate was next ‘hoodwinked’, or blindfolded, to remind him that he entered the order in a state of ignorance. A noose was then put around his neck – probably to remind him of the punishment that was meted out to those who reveal the order’s secrets— & he was led into the inner chamber. At the door, an officer barred his passage by holding a dagger to his chest. With the blindfold having been removed – representing moving from darkness into the light – the initiate lay on the floor in the symbolic coffin of the Masonic martyr Hiram Abiff, who died rather than reveal the Masons’s secrets. The candidate next answered a series of ritual questions. Then, kneeling before the master, he swore not to disclose any of the secrets of Masonry. If ever he were to do so, he accepted that his throat would be cut and his tongue torn out by the root and buried in the sand of the sea at the lower water mark. The noose and blindfold were then removed, and the new Mason was told of the significance of the ceremony. Finally, he was taught the secret step, the sign, the password & the handshake.

Now, as then, the new recruit thereby becomes a first-degree Mason or apprentice. He is given a set of tools, each of which is thought to have a symbolic value. The chisel represents the gift of learning; the hammer the power of conscience; and the 24-inch (61 cm) ruler the 24 hours of the day. He can now also wear a Mason’s apron.

After his initiation, the apprentice must dedicate himself to study. Once he has made sufficient progress he becomes a second-degree, or ‘fellow Craft’, Mason. Then he receives a plumb line symbolizing rectitude, a square representing morality and a level signifying equality. Eventually, he becomes a third-degree, or ‘master’, Mason and is given a trowel, which represents brotherhood (because a trowel is used to apply the cement that holds the blocks of stone together).

    Persecutions.
Enumerated below the recorded persecutions of the freemasons:

    * In 1738, Pope Clement XII denounced freemasonry and ex-communicated all those who had been initiated in the Craft (the ban was lifted in 1965).
    * In 1917, the Code of Canon Law declared that joining freemasonry entailed excommunication. It was revised in 1983 (removing explicit declaration against Masonry)
    * Quincy Adams (1825-1829), the 6th President of the United States proposed to abolish Freemasonry in the States.
    * In 1826, there was a negative public opinion against masonry when Cap. William Morgan who threatened to publish the closely guarded secrets of the Masons disappeared.
    * In 1828, the Anti-masonic Political Party strongly opposed freemasonry but in 1836 the party declined and then disappeared.
    * In 1925, it was outlawed in Fascist Italy
    * Ironically, the Nazis paranoically condemned freemasonry as part of the fabled world-wide Jewish conspiracy for global domination.
    * French historian Bernard Fay in a film Forces Occultes made it appear that it was the Masons that started World War II.
    * In 1981, Roberto Calvi who organised the financial affairs of the Roman Catholic Church was found dead, hanging in London. He was a member of a mysterious lodge of Freemasons called P-2 (Propaganda Due) of the Grand Orient rite.
    * In June 1985, Southern Baptist Convention’s Dr. James “Larry” Holly submitted a resolution prohibits their members from joining freemasonry.

    Pluralism.

There can be no doubt that freemasonry adheres to pluralism – a worldview that regards true all beliefs (pagans, deists, eastern religions, etc.). Along with its paganistic or esoteric symbols, rituals & occultic philosophy, it is incompatible with the historic and biblical Christian faith.

    Call None Other, “Master.”

In Matthew 23:8-10, the Lord commanded his disciples not to call any one Master for only Christ should be their Master.

However in freemasonry, the 3rd degree is Master while the Master of a Lodge is given further honorific title, “Worshipful” as he presides over their meeting. While they say it is just a title of respect & not really of worship, Matthew 23:8-10 is really a command not to do just that. The Lord Jesus said not to call anyone master, he did not say not to call anyone master as long as you’re just honoring him; the Lord Jesus did not say you may call anyone Master as long as you just honor him. In fact, Matthew 8:-9-10 is the Lord’s prescription against honorific titles.

    The LORD is His Name.

Another problem w/ pluralism promoted by freemasonry is the belief that God maybe called by any other names. Although they argue that they really don’t care what their members call their God this goes contrary to the scriptures. Because God revealed particular divine names such as, “I AM,” “the LORD,” etc. Jeremiah 33:2

    Swear Not At All.

In Matthew 5:33-37, the Lord Jesus taught his disciples not to swear at all.

The disciples were forbidden to swear upon themselves, or swear upon heaven, or swear upon Jerusalem, or swear upon their head. The Lord said swearing or saying anything beyond yes or no is evil making Christianity further incompatible with masonic oaths.

    Conclusion.

What could possibly wrong w/ a society that promotes brotherhood, relief and truth? Freemasonry is incompatible with the historic & biblical Christian faith. It promotes pluralism or universalism that tends to undermine the particular truth or the faith once entrusted for all (Jude 3) -- that there is only one way to the Father, his only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. To adhere to freemasonry is to compromise the instructions of the Lord (1) against honorific titles, (2) against swearing (3) against taking his name in vain (Exodus 20:7; Deuteronomy 5:11; Psalms 139:20; Proverbs 30:9), and (4) the Apostles teaching against being unequally yoked w/ unbelievers. We therefore submit to those who consider themselves genuine believers or disciples of the Lord Jesus & yet still belonging to this society to separate themselves from it & to renounce it.
