hala doh.. people are really swept away by the Korean invasion of movies and teleserye.. pero this one Korean movie I like 'coz it ain't a love story.. It's a kick-ass war movie that nearly kicks "saving private ryan's" ass.. well, nearly.. The movie, entitled Taegukgi or in english brotherhood of war.. actually left lord of the rings:ROTK theaters empty when they were simultaneously released in Korea...

Makakita lang ko unsa sila ka patriotic sa ilang movie industry.. well especially that the movie talks about the Korean War...

Silver Knife(Eun Jang-do)
Min-seo is the only daughter of a noble family in Andong. The most precious family treasure is the Yeolnyeomun(gate of virtue) and eunjangdo(silver knife), both symbols of a woman’s chastity. Min-seo runs away from home to continue her studies at the university, with just the knife to protect her chastity. Ever since the start of the first semester she is being hotly pursued by Su-hak and Ju-hak, but her mind and body remain tightly shut. Ju-hak is the object of ridicule because of those erections that occur regardless of place or occasion. On the other hand, Kingka, who is matched by no one in ***-related theory, just can’t seem to get it up. Ga-ryeon’s goal is to get laid, and she is working on it today, like any other day. Ju-hak loves Min-seo’s body and soul and tries to win her love, but the knife is standing in the way between him and Min-seo. Will she come to use it? Or will she let love take over?

good news.

APRIL SNOW ("Wechul") Plans are already set to release this film not only in Korea, but simultaneously in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia as well. Negotiations are also underway with the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and China. While director Hur Jin-ho has already proved himself with One Fine Spring Day, the real draw for this film has been the casting of superstar Bae Yong-joon as the lead. His co-stars include Son Ye-jin (The Classic), Ryu Seung-su (Mr Gam's Victory) and Im Sang-hyo (I Believe In Jazz). Filming began in early February and the film will be ready for release in September. It is being produced by Blue Storm and distribution is being handled by a very happy Show East. Scheduled for a September 9 release.

Bae Yong-jun and Son Ye-jin Launch Asian Tour


Top stars Bae Yong-jun and Son Ye-jin will tour 10 Asian countries during the August-September period to promote their new movie “April Snow.” In a June 9 interview with Star News, CEO Kim Dong-ju of ShowEast, the company that produced the movie, reported that the movie will open concurrently in all 10 countries on Sept. 9.

The promotion tour will include Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, China and Indonesia. Asian fans are already looking forward to seeing Bae, their favorite “hallyu” star. Bae, Son and their agency Blue Storm are currently finalizing the details of the tour schedule.

The filming of ”April Snow,” a melodrama directed by Heo Jin-ho and starring Bae and Son as the leads, is near completion, with only a few scenes left be shot in Seoul. After the filming is over, Bae will star in the epic drama “Taewang-sasingi,” produced by Kim Jong-hak Production, while Son will be busy filming her next movie, “The Standard Of Love.”

Extra

The main characters in this comic drama are Park Bong-Soo and Kim Wang-Ki. They call themselves actors but people say they are "extras". They are sophisticated extras who dream of being stars in the future. They never get frustrated even though their roles in movies are small, and insignificant. One day they get a chance to play the roles of public prosecutor and detective. After a few drinks at a karaoke salon, they practice being the prosecutor and detective for the female attendants in the karaoke. To their surprise, their acting is so convincing that they are served luxury food and paid protection money by the manager of the salon. They have an opportunity to pull the same scam again when they finish the film's shooting, and they make a lot of money again. After these two successes, they gain the courage to make a living from their ruse, and decide to do it in illegal dancing schools and casinos, to tap into the big money. When they become rich, they resolve to pull the scam one last time in order to hit the jack pot. Will they succeed?
