Nyahahahaha. Don't take it too seriously. Yep they are still powerful to some extent. F18 engines can take more than 800 hours of use before being replaced compared to a MIG(forgot which one).

But the cost of maintaning such a massive force is taking its toll. Social Security and other services entitled to every american is slowly being cannibalized in favor for military spending. This military spending is generating huge debts that fuels inflation which forces some companies in the US to fold up, outsource or downsize.
Eisenhower wasnt that bright when he was still in military service, Gen. Mcarthur did not speak that highly of him.

But I am just speculating, that is as far as i go.

I just hope they do something and do it fast before they make it worse for all of us.

@MAD ... you obviously don't know about how deeply entrenched the American military is and how it drives profits in the name of war. War is not taking it's toll, war is business as usual. You don't seem to understand the point I am trying to make in that this isn't the middle ages where war bankrupts nations, this is the present where war means big profit, jobs for your people, and money to fund further war. It is a never-ending cycle.

You talk about McArthur like he wasn't a disgrace after the war ... the man who wanted to bomb every major city in China with a nuclear weapon. Eisenhower, the supreme commander of the Allied forces during WW2, above McArthur ... not a bright man? Obviously brighter than every other military general alive then. McArthur hated Eisenhower because McArthur was a war-monger. He wanted to eliminate everything that opposed the US. Eisenhower was not. Saying that McArthur wasn't impressed with him means nothing to me. Nobody was impressed with McArthur and Eisenhower became President.
